Started growing a single plant in a 3x3 tent using GH's Flora Series in a blend of 50/50 Peat and Vermiculite ammended with gypsum and dolomitic lime, under a Mars Hydro TS2000. I lucked out with my first grow and harvested 4 oz's using a 3 gallon cloth pot. Next, I began to add Recharge, myco and insect frass and the microbials revealed an appreciable benefit to the cola sizes and overall flavor. I now grow in in a 7 gallon cloth pot and I'm growing organically by using Coast of Maine Stonington Platinum Grower's mix along with their dry ammendments. In early to mid veg, I'm watering every 4 days, in mid veg to early flower, it's every 3 days and by week 2 of flower, it's every 2 to 3 days. The plant looks healthy, the leaves are always perky and happy and my gardening workload just plummeted. Need to do some super-cropping and add the lower trellis. I'll keep you in the loop 'til harvest. Happy growing!
Week 4 of flower is the last ammendment of castings (added twice) and week 5 of flower is the last addition of bone meal (added during weeks 1, 3 & 5). This is the mfr's recommendation which I'm currently fillowing.
right on. She's super healthy but bordering on excess (due to raised leaf serrations i saw in pic) Not that you asked but I might skip the bone meal due to the length of time needed to break down. Congrats and good luck thru the finish line. And reuse that COM soil - its way too expensive for just one run
Throwing in some organic soil and fish compost also noticeably increased my plants general appearance and yield, I still use bottled nutes sometimes if in a small pot or trying to grow a big photo and deficiency signs arise. I find even with adding other amendments, the microbes in a good layer of base organic soil tend to do a much better job of clearing out any excess salts if I overdo something, way less instances of root rot as well. I actually miscalculated this current cycle and so have two plants that are growing in just lowes potting soil I've amended to be better for cannabis, it will be interesting to see how they compare side by side with the fish compost and organic soil plants. I know the compost plants will do better, but it will be cool in a few months to have some nice side by sides.
I actually bought Liquid Squid to add phosphorous during flower because I was concerned about the bone meal nutes breaking down in time for the plant to uptake them. If I see any signs of deficiency in the last weeks of flower, I'll add the squid.
Hi and yes I am. I live in NYC and our water has only 45ppm, but I like to get rid of the fluoride so I'm also using a Zero Water reservoir and I pH that water to about 6.5. I've heard that's not important with living soil, but I'm still doing it.
