Ok so I am a few weeks away from my first harvest. I started with three plants and once flowering started the other two got ripped out. I would like to think that it was successful, my plant is about 7-9 months old and reaches my neck. My only problem is I have been budding for about a month and a half, possibly 2 months now and my buds are still very small. Though they look dank as hell, they are mostly trich covered leaves and hair. I have consulted many amateur growers, and each one has blamed it on one thing or another, one dude even tried to get me to trim the bud's leaves daily before I even harvested. The only half way good advice came from a friend who said that it is due to my florescent lighting. I have a couple of spare shop lights I got from my tool room, and 3 of those damned "energy saving bulbs" you know, the ones that twist all around? Is this really my problem? Putting down more money for this thing is out of the question, I am broke enough as is and if I have to spend more on this I might as well go pick up a 5 sack. Is there anything else to help buds develope and increase size? Thanks a bunch in advance.
At this point where you've kept her alive this long, just take the best care of her you can, and hope for the best. If she's already been blooming for 2 months, she's nearly finished, or she's at least at the stage right now where the most weight goes onto the buds.. it does seem to take a little longer for people with fluorescent lighting. What are you feeding her, what's the medium (soil etc), just bagseed strain etc? Pics would be especially useful, we would be able to help you spot possible deficiencies that way. Any extra info about your environment would help, but at this point, your best option is to take care of her as best you can, without changing anything too drastically (which at this stage could shock and stunt her growth even further, even if it's a positive change), and now is the time to begin collecting the proper equipment to have a more successful crop in the future.
Soil is soil from my garden for tomatoes, because they and weed have almost same PH needs, it is a little over but not much. I haven't been fertilizing since flowering started (once again bad advice from amateur growers). I save my seeds up from the occasional one or two you find in a dro/kush baggie, so the genetics are high enough quality. I will post some pics up in about an hour when the lights turn on, she's sleeping now. Sadly this might be my last grow until I can convince the old lady otherwise, though I see her point, the last thing I need is another bad thing for the pigs to find in my house.
