Aloha! these are four ladies are sitting in 20gal totes in Living soil. Unfortunately, I don’t have my VPD on lockdown, the temps are steady around 80° and 60% humidity But swings sometimes to the as low as 55° during lights off. pH is around 6 (I think). I only give rainwater and mycos (recharge).
I am not sure if I have a root or an environmental issue going on? I have Good drainage, the soil is my own mix from aged compost/ humus... kinda coots style, loaded with life

The problem is specifically affecting two plants in the rear but only on two stems (Almost like a perfect circle if you’re looking down at my plant cluster like a ufo crop circle) Some of the fan leaves are fine on the stems, but are wilted and lifeless... the necrosis/ fried leaves are Very inconsistent showing on the upper and lower leaves and really only on one side of the colas, not the whole thing.
It’s spreading very slowly on the effected areas but staying in its lane and not effecting the rest of the plant.
The buds themselves look fine, and I am strongly considering just chopping the affected Stems out and dry them or do you think this would cause more problems? I still have about two weeks to go.
I have analyzed the environment especially overhead, everything looks good and even thought it could be light burn from one of cobs with light distribution... idk? I’m scratching my head here Because the girls are cruising. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

  4. Looks like one of the major root veins might have gotten tied up and it's cutting the water supply to part of the plant. This can happen if a plant was root bound before transplanting to the final container and had knots in the roots. As the roots grow thicker over time, a knot could actually get so tight it will block the flow of water. This is why it important to cut the roots when transplanting a root bound plant.

I don't think you need to take out the plant but I would remove the effected branches if possible, don't want any dead leaves rotting in there and give mold a place to take hold.

  5. Is there any chance that the bottom fan is directing air and being deflected on your back wall in the areas effected?

  6. Thanks for the reply, I don’t think so, as I just moved the fan down there because the Soil is taking a bit longer to dry out due to cooler temps I was thinking I might have some root rot going on.

  7. Appreciate the insight. They were not too root bound when I transplanted But it definitely seems like somethings up with the roots at least that’s my hunch. I will do as you suggested and remove the branches. Thanks again bro

  10. I removed a couple of branches last night and right where the color changes on stem is brittle. @TimJ was onto the fan thing, Even though I’ve only used my tiny heater a handful of times I noticed that the airflow from the heater was in fact concentrated on that exact area and being pulled right up from The extraction fan. So it’s either heat burn or something going on in the roots, still not 100% sure. I’m going to figure something out with the heater and monitor very very closely. Thanks again guys IMG_3865.JPG IMG_3864.JPG

  11. Those stems have dried out to wood! I bet they pop when bent. Definitely way to dry of air and too much heat.
Glad ya got it figured out.
    cheers
