    Hello
I am hoping to get some feedback to a core question on whether I need to stop my use of cannabis dried flower immediately?! . . .

I have a prescription to use a gram a day of cannabis. I remain unclear exactly what condition I am treating. I brought 3 hypothesis to the two doctors who assessed my need for medical cannabis:
    1) Suspected ADHD (self diagnosed)
    2) Pain management for my chronic 4/10 level pain in my knees from osteoarthritis
    3) Mild chronic depression resulting from vicarious trauma I experience in my work as a frontline mental health worker.

I use a lot of mindfulness (yoga and remembering to notice my breath and my body sensations throughout the day) to help me with my symptoms of ADHD. I have been meticulous in learning about and adjusting my diet to avoid inflammatory foods which i believe has helped curb my arthritis pain. I became a « CBT specialist » (in my 30 year career as a mental health therapist) to help me maintain my own mental balance.

Some people would ask me - « if you are doing all those things, why do you even need Cannabis? » And so, I have explored my cannabis use from the perspective of addiction even attending 12 step programs, doing intense psychotherapy, taking « weed holidays », etc.

Recently I ordered some herb that I didn’t realize was kief. It reminded me of this blonde Moroccan hash i was getting in the late 90s. But this stuff was terrible in my vape and would bring on a strong cough and even wheezing! And during these days of
COVID-19, I just don’t feel good about purposely irritating my lungs like that.

I googled on what to do with this kief crap. Someone suggested I just put it in my hot tea. So I tried it and had an allergic reaction (stuffed nose, upset tummy and slight hives on my arms). . . It reminded of when I accidentally ingest snacks with hemp seeds and how I get similar symptoms. It also reminded me of the time I helped my friend with her big backyard crop jin October and I had to wear rubber gloves and a mask to prevent getting a bad reaction. . .

I’ve asked my two « cannabis prescribers » and numerous dispensary staff - « is it possible I’m allergic to cannabis and shouldn't be using it but neither believed it to be the case.

So, if you were me, would you just suck it up and say bye to weed or would you recommend I just stick to my « refines » cannabis oils which do not seem to cause an allergic reaction for me? .

The goal of my post is not to question whether I am addicted or not. My question is about my possible physical allergy to weed...

  4. I would go see an allergist and find out for sure. If using doesn't affect you the same as being in contact with the actual plant and resins I'd argue you are safe to continue use.....

Idk if this is relevant but when I grew in my bedroom closet I would get horribly watery eyes and stuffed up sinuses....could just be you're sensitive to the live plant

You're not addicted to weed but would explore parking lots to pick up random ass roaches & smoke them..

Honestly that's the kinda stuff you only see fiends doing man , I've smoked for 10+ years & never gone exploring to find roaches:confused_2::laughing:

If Marijuana is giving you negative effects stop smoking all together:confused_2: weed isn't for everybody the same as alcohol isn't for everyone :smoke:

  7. it is kind of like if you grind pepper and snort it = instant bad effects as opposed to eating it in food ETC... getting kief pollen in your airway would be similar... maybe reconstitute that kief into grain alcohol and make green dragon tincture with it green dragon tincture at DuckDuckGo
the alcohol should stop the dry allergic effect somewhat .
there is a simple test to determine if you are allergic to cannabis ... take a bud and break it in two, rub inner broken section very gently on a pressure point ( inner wrist) ... wait up to 15 minutes... if area is inflamed you are allergic to that cannabis or a pesticide in there eTC..... the trick is to not rub to hard as that would cause it to turn red anyway

  8. Well that was helpful, thank you. The wrist test caused some hives and itchiness. Damn! Weed has been my go to life companion for decades. And now it appears I will need to say adieux to my dear Maryjane...

  9. Rub some decarbed weed on wrist? Might be strain or pesticides, don't give up , weed good!;)
