I need to quit my job without a 2 week notice

  1. Alright well I need to quit my job today and I'm supposed to be working like all this week, I can't give a 2 week notice because of some things at home that happened. What can I do? What should I tell my manager? I wanna leave on a good note but I doubt that's gona happen now.

  2. As a manager I can say this shit happens sometimes. Some managers will deal with it more poorly than others, but never forget you are not owned by who you work for and a good manager will be able to deal with a situation like this with no problem.

  3. Be honest with him, if it's a bad enough situation and is necessary he will understand, and if he doesn't, you shouldn't even bother leaving on a good note, be like fuck you man, cuz that would make him a dick

  4. Can you give them a few days, write a letter of resignation, just so they have it for their records, and you leave the most professional way you can, always good to keep networks around, and keep them liking you :bongin:

  5. Not going to tell us the story of what happened leading up to this hmm?

Well, if I were quitting my pizza job with no notice, I'd probably sabotage a huge order for the night and walk out on the job with a huge mess left on their hands. But that's just me, I can be a dick sometimes.

  6. Be honest with him/her. Life happens, do what you need to do for you and your family.

  7. Just call them and say that things have come up and you're not going to be working there anymore..not that big of deal

  8. You should sabotage the order by taking them all home :yummy:

  9. What kind of work do you do. That's important for proper advice

  10. Well its just family issues and because of that I need to quit today.. Idk how to go about it since all my coworkers are friendly and we just started to get know each other fairly well, he also offered me the job himself thinking that I would be there longer (its only been 3 1/2 weeks) so idk I'm just worried to how he'll react.. I'm also a regular customer at the place I work and I'm worried he might just stop treating me with the same respect for just walking out like this.

  11. Fuck him tell him wats up hell understand if he diesnt. Fuck him

I work at this small quiznos and most of the people there have been working together for years like 3-8. I was there newest employee...

A professional manager shouldnt think differently of you if you leave on proper terms. If he does, fuck him. There are plenty of other jobs out there.

  14. Well I'm thinking of calling in sick today cause my situation won't let me go to work starting today and then letting him know tomorrow that because of my situation I'm unable to work anymore.... I'm just worried because everyone has a tight schedule and I'm supposed to be there today Thursday Saturday and Sunday..... I'm supposed to get my paycheck this Friday too for the hours I already worked...

  15. Well man at a job like that managers have to be prepared for thing to happen.

There's a very high turn over rate. You don't keep that place running you know what I mean. They'll still be there and just find someone else. If he treats you differently then that just shows you the real person he is

Not trying to downplay the situation, but it is Quiznos. Im sure people have left on much worse terms.

Well idk I'm just worried what do you think the best approach would be? Over the phone, in person, letter or something else? I mean I know I'm gona need to give them my uniform and my manager also bought a p90x program from me so I still gotta give him that.. I just feel really bad :(, like I still wanna work there my situation just doesn't allow it anymore..

  18. Your best bet is to be completely honest.

Tell him your situation and how your very conflicted but at this time other obligations take precidence over this job.

I would also go in and speak with him in person. It shows that you're sincere and that you're a mature person trying to do the right thing. Tell him you really appreciate the opportunity and leave it at that.

He can't be upset, its just a job and its not like you're quitting a fortune 500 company or anything

  19. Yeah i guess so. The thing that just worries me is he already has me on shifts for this week, and idk who's gona cover so i think he might just be mad at that.

  20. Call them and just be strait up with them saying you have family issues and transportation issues. No point in BS anyone further than necessary..
But word to the wise.. I really suggest NOT quitting till you have another job lined up or able to survive for like 6 months without a job..
See, I quit my job in march for similar reasons and still have not been able to find a job. Its pretty damn stressful and I'll never quit a job like that again...
    Good luck to you bro.
