Whats up. Im growin my first plant. its still only like 6 inches tall. I cant tell weather its male or female. when i got it i noticed balls but later learned that it could be too early to tell its sex characteristics. When i checked on it today there was something new growin at the base of the stem between the Can a plant be stunted in any way if someone had removed like the bottom 4 nodes? Theres new stuff growin in there too. Right now im using 2 coiled cfls and its doing just fine except for the lower leaves are kindof a yellowish color with a lil purple. i was wondering if these leaves werent getting the light that they needed. And how many cfls should i be using?
You need 100 actual watts of cfl per plant, as for the sex without pics you could be seing new growth. Its sounds like you plants may b burning what nutes are you using and how much? Also what soil? Peace
Sounds like over watering. (Yellowing leaves) The new growth is prolly just new leaves starting. How old are the plants. and are you 12/12 . if not it's just new growth. Gotta be 12/12 to show sex. except lowriders. lol
almost sounds like youve got side branches comin through if its only 6 inches. i dunno. pics would help.
Loads of causes for leaf yellowing, you cannot POSSIBLY do any kind of useful diagnosis without studying the plant for a considerable time. This is a complete guess. And plants show preflowers while they are still in the veg stage, about 6-8 weeks - mine are about a foot tall at that point. If you had ever done a grow you would know that.
Like i said this is my first somewhat successful grow. Now i know why my leaves are yellowin thank you. I know i nute burned them.. I dont know what the nutes are that i have. my homie jus gave me some nutes to give to it. he told me to mix what he gave me with a gallon of water. He harvested some amazing buds not to long ago but unfortunately i havent been able to get ahold of him for quite some time. Ive fed it nutes 2 different times and it burned it both times so i flushed it a lil bit and held off on watering all together. And the new growth comin in is between the balls. new leaves or what?
Pics definately help diagnose the problem. If the leaves are yellowing around the edges and tips then its nute burn; if they are yellowing in spots and generally just pale all around it is a Nitrogen Defficiency... the purple stems are actually a Phosphorus defo. Honestly brotha, it sounds like your plants are actually hungry. Especially since you said only the bottom leaves are yellowing. If it was nute burn they would be literally burning on the edges of the leaves all over the plant. Once you get some experience under your belt you will be able to easily tell the difference. Slap a pic up there and I'll tell you what you got... Peace
ite ppl i KNOW i got nute burn lol cause it happened after i fed it nutes. But i do have purple stems and the bottom leaves are gettin a lil pale but i jus thought it was because they werent getting enough light. Ill post some pix when my moms not around
Well more info is needed to really give you a straight answer... What are you using for a soil medium? Lack of light typically would slow growth but shouldn't cause leaves to yellow unless they are in 24/7 complete darkness and dying although it is possible that they are yellowing if they are being blocked from the light somehow... Again slap some pics after the Moms hits the sac tonight... Peace
On the yellowish leaves there more green towards the stem so i dont think they are gettin blocked from the light. The soil im usin is whateve my homie gave to me. i know that its in a peat moss type thing that the plant is actually in. but i jus recenly transplanted it into a bigger pot and im usin some reg MG soil. but on the light colored leaves theres a light shade of purple. which i think you said it was like K or phos def. I need some reflective materials as well i dont have any money either what should i use for that for the time being?
Well if they were in mostly peat moss and probably some perlite then there is a very good chance they were hungry. Soiless potting mixes need to be fed on a regular basis. What you could have done is bought MG Veg (for growing) & MG Bloom (for flowering) and alternate feed-water-feed-water throughout the process. If you're putting them in MG soil with time released nutes then just water until the nutes run out (it should tell you on the bag how long the nutes should last). Then get a bloom nute solution a garden store. I would add some perlite to that soil you bought, good drainage is important for health of the roots and taste of the final product. Just make sure you have a fan blowing on them, oscilating if possible. Water only when the soil is COMPLETELY dry, give them enough water so some comes out the bottom of the pot, dump that water out every time. Repeat this process over and over and voila...great MJ plants ... and don't forget to mist here and there Peace

I really hope your not growing in Moms house without her knowledge... its not right to put her at risk... bad carma....
I am but im moving out next week. She knows about it an told me she was gonna put it down the garbage disposal but i dont think she cares anymore.
