This is my first grow. I am on day 21 of 12/12 light schedule. My plants have been looking pretty good up until now. The leaves are drooping real bad and doesn't look healthy in my opinion. I watered with nutrients when I seen this and then I realized that it might look like this due to over watering.... what can i do to help my plants get healthy again? The above post is a link to my whole grow journal. Plants have been healthy up until tonight. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Are you waiting until you can stick your finger into the soil about 1" down and it is completely dry before watering/feeding?
I usually wait until the soil feels pretty dry before watering. But on the last water, I gave the plants more water than I usually do.... which was 1 gallon each, and they are in 5 gallon smart pots... I figured that was ok. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
What have your temps been at lately? That is some pretty drastic wilting for a single overwatering. I haven't grown in soil for quite some time, but I give my girls in coco (5 gallon pots) 2-3 gallons each (drain to waste) every feeding/watering. I can't imagine a single watering would cause that drastic of drooping.
this is what they looked like 2 days ago. I don't know for sure if it is over watering. I'm am very new to this... it is my first grow Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
At this point, if I were in your position, I'd very lightly feed with something like hydroguard in case it is a root health problem and then let them dry out for a few days and see where it gets me. Although 85 is on the verge of being too hot, especially in flowering. If you can get that number down in the upper 70s you'd be better off.
I just watered again with fox farm big bloom and tiger bloom before I realized it may be a watering problem. What should I do about that? Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Let them dry out for a few days. If the problem persists, I'd start adding hydroguard into my nutrient schedule to combat root problems, as if this isn't overwatering its more than likely a root issue.
I the little bit of time I was trying to figure this thing out... these plants look alot better after feeding them... maybe it was lack of nutrients..wtf??? Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Still a little droopy, but not nearly as bad as it was 30 min ago Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I'm not sure how your soil reacts, but if I go too long in between feedings/waterings in coco in 5 gallon pots it takes more than a gallon of water to thoroughly saturate the medium and to get a decent amount of runoff. It very well could have been a case of pockets of dry soil from not giving them enough water during feeds.
That makes sense... during this grow, I have only watered 1 time to where there was run off out of these smart pots... I am starting to think that I have not been watering enough because I didn't want to over water them Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Like I said, I'm in coco so I'm sure there's a difference, but every time I water I water until I get 20% of the pot's volume in runoff, so in this case I water until 1 gallon of water has come out of the smart pot and into a collection bin. I then use the runoff to water my outdoor garden and various container plants (diluted by 50%).
