Greetings - I am need of some professional assistance here. I asked my buddy his opinion and he says that bc she is growing so fast she is taking nutrients from the older leaves to keep up with her growth. After perusing this forum for so long I call bullshit to that answer. So I open it up to the forum... Cal-mag deficiency (what I think it is)? Nute burn? Light too close? Some other shit that I don't know about? Or is my buddy right? Thanks for the help!!!
Without knowing the details of your grow, it's going to be hard to pinpoint. General rule of thumb is if the problem is going from the top-down, it is a lighting/heat issue, if from the bottom-up, it is a soil/nutrient issue. Yours seem from the bottom up. From the picture, she seems very green and glossy which means she is getting plenty of nitrogen...What is your feeding schedule? Pretty much the following list of questions need to be answered to get an informed response: http://forum.grasscity.com/sick-plants-problems/226015-when-posting-your-sick-plants-questions.html
Thanks for the response... Fox Farm OF soil Indoor Strain is Blue Widow 29 days old from sprout 400 watts HPS Lights are about 30 inches away I water when the soil is dry in the air pot that's like every 3-4 days Last feeding was Friday 4 tsp of Big Bloom and 2tsp of grow big Ph was 6.5 Temps generally stay in the mid to high 70's during the day and high 60's at night humidity in the 40's 3.4 gal air pot No bugs Thanks again
add vits and make sure its not muddy. Kinda looks like the pot is small too.
What are vits? And I dont think the pot is too small. People have grown monstrosity's in 3 gallon air pots without the roots ever touching the bottom of the pot.
Try vits every day untill its better i cant tell 100% without being near it but it looks like its low on vits.
To you as well. I cling to amateur status on the off chance cannabis cultivation becomes an Olympic event. When there is an N deficiency, it is often the bottom leaves that yellow first, but as FenceWalker pointed out, she does not look like she lacks for N. So something else, some other nutrient deficiency, or perhaps a nutrient lockout, is the likely culprit. You mentioned Cal/Mag. It looks like it might be Cal/Mag, but Cal/Mag deficiencies in soil usually turn out to be nutrient lockout due to low soil pH. No. it does not look like nute burn. 30 inches away is not too close. So you've only been feeding for a couple of weeks max. That's kinda quick for a soil pH problem. Are you referring to the pH of the feeding solution or the pH of the runoff? The pH of the grow medium needs to be between 6.5 and 6.8 when you are using chemical fertilizers in a soil grow. Measuring the pH of the runoff gives you the approximate pH of the medium. Calcium and Magnesium gets locked out when the pH of the medium drops below 6.5. If you are feeding at 6.5 then the runoff could easily be a bit lower, even just 2 weeks into the feeding regimen, and that would be all you need for a cal/mag lockout, which would look like a cal/mag deficiency. Are you using an electronic pH meter to measure the pH? Has it been recently calibrated?
I think it's burn/lock out, FFOF is a very "hot" soil. Adding any nutrient to it before the plant uses up the soil nutes will cause build ups and burns. I had so much problem with FFOF trying to calculate when and how much to start my nutrient regiment that I just went to coco and never looked back. FFOF also seems to have lots of fungus gnats in it, that could be part of the problem also.
Thanks guys... I really don't know what it was but since I took that pic I believe that I have gotten a better grasp on her nutrient intake. I need to start testing the pH on the run off bc all I have been doing is testing the waters pH after adding whatever nutes that I'm using. I have been adding cal/mag at 1/4 strength on her nutrient water days and 3/4 strength on her regular water days and I have not seen anything but green and luscious leaves on her new growth. Also earlier this week I topped her main branch again, trimmed her leaves and lst'd her and needless to say she is growing like... Well a wild weed! I will post pics soon!!!
