  1. Hello this is my first grow . I am growing in a 5x5 using a next light 525 this is about 6 weeks into veg and all of a sudden I am starting to get droopy leaves and some yellowing and Burnt spots . I use rain water to water and it's around 7.8 pH before I add the nutrients then it's down to about 6.4- 6.6 . I was watering every other time with just the rain water then I saw on here that watering with a pH that high was not good so I read I could add a couple drops of lemon juice to her the pH down.. so the last 2 times I have watered without nutrients I used the lemon water with a pH of 6.3. hopefully I didn't mess up by usuing the lemon juice it seems like it has been looking like this since I did that. Ohh I forgot it is in a 5 gal smart pot
I'm sure there is more info I should be giving you but I'm not Sure what info is needed

Thanks in advance for your help
I hope I can fix this issue before it gets too dark gone . I also forgot the run off pH is about 6.6 -6.8 and when I use the nutes I am using 2 tablespoons to one gal of the grow and 1 tablespoon of the liqufied seaweed

  2. This looks like a cal-mag issue, and with rain water thats possible, getting close to flower i assume

  3. What is the source of the water?
What is the media you are growing in (coco, peat moss, dirt? brand?)
Where did that yellow leaf appear? Was it under all the foliage?
I'm not familiar with that fertilizer, but still, people will need to know this info.

  4. Man that girl is begging for a transplant.

Get her in 15 gallon and watch her worship. Hell even 8 gallons would help her.

  5. What is the source of the water?
I live out in the country and collect the water from my roof . It runs thru a sediment filter

What is the media you are growing in (coco, peat moss, dirt? brand?)
I use fox farms 1/2 ocean floor 1/2 happy frog

Where did that yellow leaf appear? Was it under all the foliage?

The yellow leaf came from about halfway up the plant under a lot of the folage

I'm not familiar with that fertilizer, but still, people will need to know this info.
This was the fertilizer that the guy recommended at the store I can get a pic of the back label if that will help.

I didn't know if I could transplant it at this late stage.. but you can bet your ass I will be stopping and getting a bigger pot on my way home tonight . Thanks for all the help so far

  6. Hey Dan. You def can transplant that girl. It's really easy just a bit messy. Here's what you do. Let her dry out for a day or two( .no watering).

Lay down a tarp or a sheet or similar to make cleanup easy. Tip plant on its side and start pulling the fabric right at the seam. Work it slowly down the root ball. Have your pot ready with enough dirt at the bottom to leave about 3 inches of pot above the rootball when you put it in.

Plop her in and fill in dirt around her packing pretty tight.

Now get some mulch on her to help retain moisture and feed the herd. Also you may want to add some additional drainage to the soil from What I understand of the brand'. Never used it myself I mix my own soil.

Now yellowing low and inside is normal when she's ready for a transplant or has been under watered or under fed. Or if the light isn't penitrating deep enough.

How do determine when to water your plants? What about feeding them?

  7. Thanks for all the help guys she was looking a lot happier today when I got home from work . I transplanted her tonight the rootball was pretty tight and very dry lots of roots sticking to the fabric. I didn't want to disturb the rootball too much so I just cut the pot off . The pot I have her in now is a 20 or 25 gallon I hope she is happier now . I was thinking I was going to switch the lights to 12/12 around the 11th that will be about 62 days from popping out of the paper towel.(or should I go a little longer since I transplanted so late ?)now that I am in a lot bigger pot should I water more when I water . I was just watering every other day one gallon between the big one and the 3 little ones (1 gal total for all 4 plants )

  8. She is going to love that new pot.

I'm glad you answered your watering question. This right there is half your problem. While not necessary a few bucks invested would make your life much easier.

1 if you can always lift your pots. Learn what they feel like when they are wet. Then when you go to water lift them again. Water accordingly.

    2. Get a moisture meter. Simple ones work best. Used as a visual aid to help train your brain.

3 .bluemats watering system. While not necessary, they are worth every penny. This really helped even out some of the road bumps in my own grows.

As far as how long to wait, .I'd wait for it to perk up some and when your ready flip her.

  9. Thanks yak

I briefly looked at the bluemats but I .in bed I will look into it more tomorrow. Thanks again for all your help
