I need help dealing with being dry

  1. I haven't smoked since sunday, and i'm broke until thursday (a week from today), and it wasn't THAT bad until I got home from work today.... some things happened at work that really did a number on my self esteem, and that really made me feel unconfortable with who i am.... it's not common that that happens but it's not super rare either.... and normally i'll have dank sitting at home waiting for me to reflect on things in a more positive way, be happier with who I am, and meditate, spend some time with God, and that optomistic attitude carries over to when I'm sober.... however, I am dry, I can't affored any nuggets, and don't have any way of getting any, my parents won't let me borrow money from them because they know what I want to buy (they don't stop me from doing it but they aren't going to help me get it)....and basically i'm feeling really unconfortable with who i am. i called my best friend to talk to him, but he wasn't there, i talked to my dad and told him what was going on, he tried to help (but the only way he really could have helped was to let me borrow some money), I tried praying, but this unconfortablness I feel in myself still lingers, I hate it.... it's not depression, I don't know how to describe it, but I basically have no where to turn but to at 11 pm on a weeknight but you guys..... has anyone experienced this? what are some things I can do to deal with my being dry? thanks gc.
     
  2. Try playing some video games or do anything to get your mind off of toking.

    maybe drink a few beers,get a buzz goin on and watch a movie or something.
     
  3. Sorry to hear that bro, the best advice I can give ya is keep your mind busy. Bury your head in a game or a book. Go for a long walk, anything that keeps your mind off your situation.

    And dude don't let what other people say get to you, the only thing that matters is that you are happy with who you are, who gives a shit what oher people think! :)
     
  4. that sucks your dry bro, im goin threw a similar thing too untill tommarow after work, btw is that i think if your an everyday smoker and you smoke before you go to bed and before school, your mind gets mentally set on doing that and when you dont get that fix it sucks and shit doesnt seem to go right, but in reallity, everythings fine and its just yourself head fucking with you untill you get your next burn

  6. I didnt blaze today either, but besides not having bud, I really didnt feel like it.

    I felt really down to, not exactly depression, but just a moody feeling all day today and yesterday.

    But we all have our days and well have better ones.
     
  7. heh, thats a real nice sob story of being dry. but asking me to take a look at this thread is not just like rubbing salt in the wound, its like throwing it in my eyes and scrubbing hard with a wire brush dipped in vinegar and lemon juice. :p to put it less vivid and ambiguously... 99% of the time i spend here is when i'm dry, for i live in a place where it's really hard to even get soapbar, and bud is like this heavely rarity that we're only blessed with when we've been particularly good and competent. :D

    i say focus on this feeling, feel it. be with it. fully. viscerally. (i dont actually know what that word means, but is sounds good right). and learn to realise the state in which you have put yourself. are you using cannabis as a crutch? well, see, that's what happens when your crutch is taken away. you can walk on your own, leaning on cannabis might not be the best idea for walking. then once we've mastered walking without cannabis, we might take a flying lesson with cannabis. :D hehe.

    (i havnt had any sleep all last night...30 something hours been up... was a great after party to the comedy night, with the comedians...)

  8. I can't help you with the urge to smoke, that doesn't really go away once you have the twitch, but I can say this:

    You are a cool guy, we here at Grass City, and I hope others don't mind me speaking for them, like you. So fuck the chumps at work, their not as cool as us anyway, and we say you're a cool guy, so fuck em.

    Just remember when someone makes you feel down on yourself, that person represents 1 out of billions of human beings, his opinion ain't shit. Just go find someone to hang with who won't make you feel like that. In your case, you can always come here.

    thanks, but i'm not looking for an alternative mind altering substance, i'm just looking for something like yoga or something. heh, i'm gonna go ask my friend to borrow some yoga dvd's :D

    it's no problem man, but i don't really know what to infer from that.

  14. well the 3 I listed are hardly mind altering

    st. johns is used in europe more than prozac/welbutrin as a natural anti-depressant...very subtle but it makes your days go easy

    5htp is pretty much a step away from serotonin so insomnia is driven off without much trouble naturally (your body already creates it)

    and last but not least the valrian is a sedative so a glass of it before bed will make you feel great
