  1. I used to use inhalants quite a bit in i was in 8th and 9th and 10th grade but probably mostly 8th, sometimed i would quit, but then i would just start again out of nowhere. then in 10th grade about 3/4ths of tenth grade i was using alot of amphetamines(adderall xr and amphetamine salt tablets) then i got locked up and a kid i was locked up introduced me to the "space monkey" i guess some people also call it "natural high" and i did that for a few weeks, not alot but i still was doing them a few times a day , then i got sent to inpatient treatment and did them a few times there. skip forward to today i Never think before i talk and my I.Q. has gone from 132 to 89(i was very depressed when i scored 89) and now i wonder if i have brain damage. I know my grandma developed brain damage but thats from head trauma from her ex husband.

so please give me an honest answer DO YOU THINK I HAVE BRAIN DAMAGE????

sorry if its hard to understand my typing

  2. Mathematically speaking, IQ goes down with age because you divide your raw score by your age (which increases as you get older) to get your IQ score. It's a very flawed system of evaluating intelligence.

Inhalents will eat your brain, plain and simple. They are very bad for you and can lead to brain damage.

I suggest you get a brain scan. My girl knew a kid who inhaled so much stuff that the guy killed 33% of his brain and it won't recover.

I'm not trying to scare you though. I doubt you did as much shit as that guy did and you function well-enough to post about your troubles on a computer.

If you have insurance you can schedule a brain scan, c-t scan, or something to look at your brain to evaluate the damage.

    Good luck.

  3. inhalents cuase alot of what you describe supposedly.

try only smoking pot, or nothing at all for a while, and study your ass off. not like you can really study for an IQ test, but it will help sharpen the dulled parts of your brain. pick up a good book from time to time, and try to solve puzzles and crosswords. just stay sharp man, i have no real advice for you, but im doing the best that i can. lay off drugs for a while. if i was locked up, i wouldnt be looking for drugs. id be thinking about sorting out my life.

what kind of education do you have? i actually dropped out of highschool ( probably the thing i regret the most) and used to be kind of aggressive, and pretty angry all the time. i realized alot about myself, and i have since been trying to better myself as a person. if you dont have a highschool education, i suggest getting your ged and doing some community college. thats what im striving for, im already in GED classes. its kind of hard tho becouse i work 9-5 everyday. but you gotta do what you gotta do man. i wish you the best of luck.

  4. Inhalents, as posted by K.T. will do serious damage to your brain. My honest opinion is you probably have gotten some damage, but I can't tell you how much.

  5. I'm sure you have some form of brain damage. I won't even begin to estimate what degree though, as I really have no idea exactly how much you did.

Reguardless... I've always found that the IQ system is bullshit... and it's more for proving some intelligent people are truely intelligent, than it is to prove those of lesser intelligence are just that. I know people with IQ's that you could probably count on your hands, who are actually some of the smartest people I know.

  6. "smart" is an extreamly overused, and general word. it depends on where you excell in life man.

  7. IQ tests were formulated to gauge how much potential for education/learning a person posessed. That's why age is factored into the equation. A new born baby has the potential to learn more in the balance/durantrion of its life than a 55 year old man with 20-30 years left before his expiration date passes.

    Really dodgy stuff IMO.

  8. The best advice I can give you is that if you really want an honest answer go to a doctor. Be 100% honest with him about what you've done in the past and he will give you back a 100% honest answer on your health. I used to withold information from my physician (i.e. sex, drugs, drinking, etc) because I was half embarrased half afraid of his reactions, but I realized that he was doing nothing but trying to help me so I was only hurting myself by not asking his opinion. Do what you gotta do man, but always put your health and safety first.

  9. agreed, IQ scores are BS. there are to many random variables they have no way to resolve.

I agree totally with Bliz, excercising the brain is very effective. not just doing some word searches now, give it a real workout, the more often you do the easier it gets.

  10. Which, ironically, is exactly my point. :p

  11. hell even art works your brain out, ive totally wanted to maybe take up painting or photography.

  12. Music is a prime workout for your noggin'.

  13. I love working out my mind. I guess why that's why I read so much philosophy. :D

  14. Ya you probably fucked your brain up alot.

  15. I agree, I might have spoken to quickly on the word searches, I'm sure what works for everyone is different, it's just a matter of finding out what actually excercises your brain. as long as you're honest with yourself, you could use anything that involves your facilities. chess has always worked for me. I know I may be in the minority with this one, but I always found my studies in college mentally exhilerating as well.
