I nearly lost all my plants

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Juzi, Jun 30, 2019.

  1. I put up a fifth light and within 24 hours all my plants were drooping and turning brown about to die.
It was also a very hot day too, so my fans couldn't get any cool air from anywhere.
I've got the temp back down to around 31/32 degrees Celsius.
I'm assuming that it's the extra light, but I'm new to all this and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm 6 weeks and 3 days into flower.
I water and feed every day
I use 10 litre pots of soil.
    Under 600 watt bulbs
I started with 10 plants, took one as a mother and one died, I think cos of drainage issues, but not certain of that.
I'm using bloom newt and pk/45 boost with local hard water.
Using a big box fan and a isolating desk fan.
This is my first attempt at growing weed, so absolutely any help, tips or advice would be great cos I'm extremely eager to learn as much as possible.

  2. could be the light and temps together. Just lost a bunch of my girls this season to heat stress as well. It’s serious out here brother.
If you’re starting indoors try keeping an ac or at least a fan on and a consistent temperature. I didn’t do that because I was trying to keep discrete, and by the time I got home from work almost all of my girls succumbed to it.

  3. Yes no worries,
Also forgot to add, I'm growing "skittles "

  4. That's pretty much what happened to me. I was ticking along nicely and then saw an opportunity to put a fifth light up and increase my yield foolishly I chose the hottest day of the year to do this so later found it was way too hot and nearly all the the girls had died luckily I was in time to save them and hope that it will turn out ok here's a few pics what do you think do they look alright

  5. Wow those don’t look half bad for being heat stressed brother. You just have to careful now, it might affect your yield a little but I’m not too sure, she’ll definitely bounce back from it though brother just keep her watered and keep the temps safe. Might have extended her flowering time a little as well but I think she’ll pull through bud

  6. Respect my man I can't tell you what a relief it is to hear that from somebody who knows what they're doing.
When I went up and found them they looked dreadful they're all droopy and turning brown and one of them had as good as died I took it out truck two-thirds of it down and I put it back up with the others I'm just hoping it's going to be ok but I doubt it will ever give me as much as it would have done if I didn't had the extra add the extra light

  7. thanks for replying to me I really appreciate that any help advice or tips will be greatly appreciated I'm a beginner and need as much help and encouragement as I can get

  8. What did you make of my pictures do you think they look ok

  9. All good brother! A great grower never stops learning. You should be good along as you try and keep your tent cool, it’s also good to have the room your tent is IN, kept cold, since that is where the room temperature starts.
Weed really is a fascinating plant. It has more of a chance surviving a little heat wave and drought, then it would overwatering. Just a little bump, but nothing a little weed cant get over.. you got this brother.
You’re girls will always tell you what they need more or less of -you just need to understand them :thumbsup:
Just remember to keep that environment optimal and water/feed, and your girls will take care of themselves :biggrin:
    Good luck brother!
Feel free to at me, DM , or even post on my page. Always glad to help.
    Take care, brother!

  10. Thanks so much for that, your words of encouragement are much appreciated. An I'm in complete agreement with you. Though yes, I defo got into this for financial reasons. I've been doing it for near on 2/3 month, and it's only cost me money up to this point. But the thing that's kept me eager, positive and totally enthralled is the sheer joy of watching my hard work, time money and research turned into living things. It's like I'm their God and without me their dead. I've enjoyed the responsibility and how much I've learned. If I do make money it's just a bonus, and I can't wait to do it better than last time.

  11. All good brother, I feel you. Sucks with initial prices and having to wait months just to see good results. But if you have everything you need nothing can really stop you. It really is fun though. Bringing things to life and watching them grow into something awesome, I love horticulture. Hell, I’m probably even gonna buy a cactus I’ve always wanted just because :laughing:
Seems like you’ve got a passion too brother. It’s always nice to see that on here.
Good luck and happy growing brother!
