Sounds slightly too poppy and produced for my liking, but I'm one of those people who loves 'rawness' and 'realness', which I can't even fucking whip out a definition for But I liked it, it's certainly not poppy in the sense of conventional pop. I dig it, good post OP
Lo-Fi usually pisses me off too, because it's INTENTIONALLY seeking that kind of sound rather than letting it come naturally, which it generally does if you put your heart and soul into it. It's like constructing artificial passion to me. No, I don't mind low quality recordings, but a whole genre based upon it seems dumb to me.
