So I'm a little concerned about my baby it's been burned a couple of times from my lights, thankfully it wasn't that bad at all because I noticed early. I know my lights should be about 2 inches away to prevent stretching which I don't need considering I don't have a lot of space. I work 6 days a week with long hours a day so I'm not able to check on her as much as I'd like to. It seems to go through growth spurts too lol for example I checked on it before I went to bed (again about 2 inches away) and the next morning it was touching the lights already! Luckily the lights had recently come on and it didn't hurt her that bad. Idk anybody have any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Oh also should I cut the tip of the leaves that got burned? It happened over a week ago, I thought it would have healed up by now how's she looking btw? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
looks fine, i assume you are using CFL since you said 2" away. For most lighting you want to have it far enough away that you can hold your hand at the canopy for 30s+ without feeling like its too hot, but for CFL you do not have that wiggle room and need to make sure your ventilation is up to par. also, get rid of the aluminum foil, flat white paint or mylar for reflectivity. And switch the spectrum of the bulbs you are flowering you should be using red spectrum lighting.
Fan on your bulbs. I kept 26w bulbs so cool you could grip them with your hand, leaves grew in between the spirals with no damage. Looks great btw
I've been told that already about the foil, I should of listened tomorrow I'll stop by Home Depot and pick up some paint. So what do you think about the fans, should I add more in/outtake? Do you have any recommendations for the lights? My budget is low so anything on the cheaper side is best Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum mobile app
for the lights you should use 2700 K or 3500 K (orangey-red hue) during flower, it looks like youa re using 5500 K which is good but for veg. what kind of exhaust setup do you have currently? proper exhaust should take care of all your heat issues with CFL. For airflow inside the grow area I'd probably use a small clip on oscillating fan that is aimed between the canopy and the lights to control the temps.
i just did a quick search on amazon, would this do? seems like itll work and reasonably priced. all i have in my grow box is 1 in 1 out pc fan, i could add more if you think itll help
