i have yellow leaves....should i add epsom salt (i feed it plant food already)

i have about 6 plants and the lower leaves keep turning yellow so i cut them off (is this bad?) well i keep reading posts where people say to use epsom salt, i need to know if i should use the salt even though im giving the plants food??
