I have to slow this down a little bit, help?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by rideXnitro, Dec 26, 2010.

  1. I have to start to slow down on my pot smoking for financial reasons. its not that i spent all my money on weed, but if i keep going at the pace i am now
I will have nothing since I cant get a job until i move into the house where im moving.

I've quit for 5 months before but even though i was able to contain myself from smoking for that long, i still thought about it everyday up until that next hit.
It just seems like weed is a lot harder to quit for me than for other people. I started smoking cigs before weed and for me cigs were so easy for me to put down and not think twice about. and thats the weird thing i guess because it should be the opposite. but when i stop smoking weed i get anxious thinking about the next time im gonna smoke.

Does anyone else have a similar problem at all? i know its just a mental addicition, but i guess for me thats no joke still.

  2. Think about why you smoke. Do you do it to relax or get away from problems? When you smoke, do you control the weed, or does the weed control you? You have to realize that you're the one in charge. You can't let a plant control your life.

  3. Personally, I don't see the smoking of weed as all that different from any hobby-it's a form of release, a form of letting go. That's why I longboard, that's why I write songs. But like any hobby, you have to be able to say no when push comes to shove, when things aren't so easy. And that makes you stronger. You're already 5 months stronger; keep going.

  4. It helps me to make pot an event-based activity. Like a reward.

  5. i feel ya on ya this one about 14 months ago i was spending all my money on erb and actin like a fiendish fat lazyy muthafucka, but i can tell ya from personal experience that pots way easier to quit than other stuff like perscript meds ( agian not 2 proud of it but know from p.e.) but just replace smokin weed with another hobby alltogether and you'll be fine video games/models n shit/spendin time wit friends n family/ you know stuff like that.

well hope we helped ya somewhat

    peace pot n microdot

  6. Hey man, you're not alone. For me, I like to smoke for many reasons. One of them it's something to pass the time!!! I'm sure this is your biggest reason why you smoke more than you'd like too.

As someone said, treat it as a reward. I don't smoke unless I do my daily duties. Right now they're pretty simple since I'm on winter break from class. I go to the gym, take a shower, and pretty much I don't lite a bowl till about 3:30-4:30. I try my best to limit myself to 2 bowls a day if I'm not doing anything outrageous like hanging out with friends or gone for the weekend. Also, I find that the earlier I smoke during the day, the more I tend to smoke because I already have that high going and like to keep it.

Just try to keep your mind occupied.

    Good luck man!

  7. I usually think about it when I'm not smoking, like, "Fuck I wish I was high right now." But get the fuck over it. If you need to stop, don't get upset about it. Remember that you still have alcohol, sex, and other people to smoke you out. Your life shouldn't be that much different just keep it cool and if you need to give in every once in a while and buy a dime, don't stress out. I think that's the most important part. You don't have to quit altogether, just make sure you're slowing down. Hope that helps.

  8. Same here dude. I can wait til night to smoke if I have a good reason, but if I blaze in the morning, I know I'll say fuck it and be blazing all day.

  9. You've made weed your comfort zone. That's how you get away from your tedious life. You need to find comfort in something else, hopefully something healthy and productive. For starters, limit your smokage to 1 bowl before bed to unwind.

I've stopped smoking for 12 days now, and I'm jacking off 3-4 times a day. Not necessarily a bad thing, but nothing good, that's for sure.
