if you have any info on how to germinate these seeds please message me! i brought these back from yosemite, and i want to grow a tree.
oh, fuckin' a, man. i believe they sell these in novelty and tourist shops in the areas where they're found. if i'm not mistaken, there are care instructions on these packages. look into this, it's likely a good bet, but far from the only place to find the information you need.
This page is in swedish, but if you use chrome you can translate the information to english with just a couple of clicks . Anywhoo its all here http://jalapeno.nu/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=104 Good luck!
cool beans man, from my understanding, it'll take a few years before it even gets past seedling stage, and unless youre in a place with plenty of other things to entice the critters year round you'll likely have to protect it from critters until its large enough to rub some bone salve on it also its unlikely you'll ever see it reach full size before you die or anywhere close to it, but if oyure a REAL gardener, that just makes it even better
yeah, i will not see it anywhere close to being full grown, and i will probably keep it indoors or protected with wire. thanks for the advice
i only have 3 seeds unfortunately, i originally had hundreds but i threw them all out while i was there. i brought back some pinecones as souveneirs, and the seeds were falling out so i threw them out. when i got back i tried to germinate a few seeds with the paper towel method, lol. did not work. a few days ago i did some research and then hit the pinecones against a wall to make a few seeds left stuck in there fall out.
if i ever go back to yosemite i will be sure to bring back a lot of seeds. it is technically illegal, but the pinecones i picked up were on the paved trails in yosemite and sequoia national parks.
Check out the link i posted close to the beginng of the thread, they have loads of seeds at a great price, not sure if they have international shipping but its worth a check!! Good luck.
i will for sure, i am probably going to grow some exotic trees and plants in a greenhouse this year, looks like they have good stuff
now that i see them up close the seeds dont look very good, they might be dead.. http://imageshack.us/a/img18/7684/12409597.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img837/1023/31034063.jpg
im not optimistic, i cant find anything on how to germinate them, i have opposing advice about stratification. i am germinating 2 outdoors in the cold, 2 indoors in the normal temperature. hopefully 1 out of 4 will work.
