I have a question about our hearts.

  1. When someone isn't moving what causes their bpm to change?

  2. Basic metabolism. Movement is not required for the body to continue processing nutrients.
Brain activity and the energy consumption that comes with it is another ongoing process.

  3. Think of it more like a generator than a motor. It's not just driving your heart, it's providing power for all kinds of things in your body. Your brain consumes a lot more energy than basic movement does

  4. that depends on the situation, they could see something that visually stimulates them enough to cause a heart rate increase, such as seeing a crush.

blood pressure spikes as well can affect heart rate, along with the possible unhealthy diet of most individuals.

there are multiple factors that can influence a change in heart rate, maybe some medical journals of specific attributes to the heart will work better for you, relating to heart rate and bpm.
