I have a gambling addiction...

  1. It all started three years ago when my friend showed me him playing online poker and even let me play with him watching me and telling me what to do. I thought it was pretty fun especially with the pots we won even though it wasn't my money.

I started playing with my own money a few days later $20 buy-ins and of course I would lose it then stop playing for a few days go back rinse repeat. I did make money sometimes but I was always in the red. Fast forward to last year and it got out of control I started buying in for $200 and losing that money and it kept going and going. Tonight I bought in for $2000 and literally seven minutes ago from right now as I write this sentence I lost it.

I looked in the mirror after that loss, splashed cold water on my face and admitted out loud that I have a gambling addiction. I'm deeply in debt now and I borrowed money from my parents that was suppose to help pay my debt and gambled it away.

I don't know what to do right now I'm going to sleep and hopefully tomorrow will be better and I won't gamble.

    Thanks for reading.

delete that shit off your phone/tablet/whatever.
Go as far as block it too, disable micro-payments.

All that shit feeds off people who have poor decision making.
A close friend of mine studied gambling addiction.
Same reaction in the brain as some drugs...

  4. If you are no good why would you play high stakes poker?... most people that play those tournaments usually win a satellite tournament for the ticket and end up paying 20-50$ for those type of buy ins and If you cant place a good ranking in the satellite tournaments how would you have any chance in an actual tournament? You shouldn’t have ever went above 5-10 dollar buy-ins until you actually learned something. Its a simple as quit playing... If you arent good at it and refuse to actually learn the strategy of the game then why continue playing? Have you even read a book on poker yet? Go play a free (fake chips) poker app or just dont you’ll probably end up buying the fake chips too... probably best to just quit and maybe play chess for free or 1-2 dollars a game max.

  5. Sounds like way more then 2k lol... he said he spent 2000$ on a single buy in ticket tonight so im sure that ontop of those 20 and 200$ buyins hes probably way over 2 grand.

  7. You're probably right. I love to gamble and hit the casino about once a week with the wife. I never have borrowed money to gamble. Never forego my bills to gamble. I don't always win, but I never being more than I can afford to lose. I personally don't trust the online gaming. Too many smart computer geeks that can hack or write a program. I feel as being a computer game the outcome could easily be manipulated.

  8. Chances are the system is cheating you out of fun anyway. When you stop having money with your wins, why keep losing when you can stop winning altogether?

Because losing is more fun that way.
