I have 400 watt ballast with a 250 hps bulb

    Hi
    Quick question
    I have a 400 watt ballast and a 250 HPS watt buld. Just wondering will the ballast be using the full 400watt to power my 250 watt bulb. Or will the ballast just generate and pass on to the bulb what the bulb will use IE 250 watt.

    You will blow the bulb out, there's a reason they have different ballasts for different watts.
