I hate to say this, but FUCK THE POLICE!!!

  1. ARGH! I'm so upset at the cops in my city. This guy was a total JERK! I'm an upholder of the law myself, so I really hate saying FUCK the police (im not a police officer, I'm private security)

I was driving to a Tim Hortons with my friend. I pull into the parking lot, got out, locked my car and started heading inside. Then i herd "Hey, excuse me!" and I turned around.
It was a police officer. He asked for my license and papers. I asked him what for? I was on my way inside I had no idea what I did. He told me I wasn't wearing my seat belt. I was like "Of course I'm not wearing a seat belt, I'm not even in my car?" He told me not be a smart ass. I didn't think I was. I was genuinely confused. I was wearing my seat belt, but because of chronic pain in my left shoulder, I wear my seat belt around my shoulder, instead of over, like it should be, because the pressure hurts my shoulder from a car accident last year. I tried explaining this to the officer. He asked if I had a doctors note. I said no, I didnt know I can get a doctors note for that. He told me he would be right back (took my license and papers with him while he J walked across the busy street to his cruiser. My friend and I were bewildered. The officer came back 8 minutes later and handed me a ticket for $110 and 2 dermit points. He told me I have 15 days to either pay it or fight it. (which is bullshit, I know its 45 days before any *legal* action can be taken) and he starts J walking again to his cruiser, making sure to stop traffic so he can cross, even tho the cross walk is literally 10 steps away from him on either side! lol nice example hes setting. I can't afford this bullshit ticket. I called my chiropractor and asked him if i can get a doctors note, and he told me he cant do that for me and didnt give me a reason why. Im getting real frustrated right now. I also contacted my lawyer who is taking care of all legalities in regards to my car accident last year. Hopefully I hear a response from them and they can help, otherwise I'll be forced to pay X Copper or POINTTS or something to help fight this bogus ticket. FML!

anyways, sorry for the long read, I just wanted to vent! thanks for reading!

  2. why would you hate to say that?

  3. $115? Damn, it's only a $25 fine here for not wearing a seatbelt, and they usually won't fuck with you over it unless they just want to use it as an excuse to pull you over. I got caught a few years ago, had my lap belt on, but the shoulder belt was broken (was one of those dumb electric ones). They still gave me a ticket though.

  4. I guess you didnt read my post....

  5. Wow that sounds like a dumbass cop.

really, he doesn't have anything better to use his supposedly "valuable" police time on than issuing tickets for minor seatbelt infractions, that you actually have a good reason for?

I'd have told him to go bust a fucking meth lab.

  6. for real! what really pisses me off is that the car accident I got into last year, when I called the cops for that it took them 20 mins to get there, and the person who rear ended me didnt get a ticket! Even though it's blatantly OBVIOUS he should of have gotten one....
I'm definately fighting the ticket but that means I'm gonna have to miss work or pay for someone to appear on my behalf, either way, I can't afford either one because after that accident I didnt work for 5 months and I'm still trying to catch up with bill payments and what not.

    AAAAH FUCK MY LIFE! lol

  7. Damn... sounds like a tough situation.

I'm not sure what i'd do, but if you fight it you might end up losing more money in legal fees and missed work than if you actually paid the ticket. Taking it to court could just make it worse. Then again it would suck to have to pay a bullshit ticket when your already behind on bills.

You could always sell a bunch of weed to get ahead:D(i kid)

Anyway, hope this works out for ya, you sound like a good blade

  8. FUCK THE POLICE!!

God, I love saying that. :D

  9. it would be worth for me to go to court because if i give in and pay i admit guilt (which i am not) and not only do I have to pay the ticket by my insurance will sky rocket by thousands because of the 2 points that comes with the fine. I have a job where i need a clean drivers abstract. If not, I loose my job, then im screwed even more. what a vicious cycle!

  10. If you aren't wearing your seatbelt properly then you can still get issued a ticket... a doctor probably wont write you a note for that for obvious reasons...

  11. Whoaa that changes everything! Your in danger of losing your job over a seatbelt ticket? Sounds harsh.

I'd be defending myself with all i had if i was in your position.

  12. And also, I don't really think you will get fired over a seatbelt ticket. I had a truck driving job which I was also told I needed a clean driving record, but I had a seatbelt and a 10mph over speeding ticket. I think they are looking for things like felony speeding, accidents, etc.

  13. Wow what a fucking prick. Sorry to hear about that.

  14. I dunno how things are in Canada but you can take that Driving test in the US and then u dont have to pay the fine and the points are erased after 12 months. Also its garrenteed that your insurance wont go up if u take it. but yeah thats one pendejo of a cop. I live in a small town so I get fucked with all the time by the local bacon dept.

Sorry to hear about that, but the cop was in the ok for giving you a seatbelt ticket. I doubt trying to fight it would prove you in the right. You must wear a seatbelt properly if you don't want a ticket.

I do agree he's a prick for giving you a ticket after you were parked and leaving your car though. A warning would've been more appropriate considering your situation.

Maybe it would help to buy a seatbelt pad that pads your shoulder. I don't have any pain in my shoulder, but i've driven a car with one and it was pretty comfortable, better than just a regular seatbelt.

  16. I know the police officer was just doing his job..but come on. have a heart (most cops dont, though). I just got back to work and am trying to catch up on my bills. I cant afford my insurance sky rocketing because of a stupid seatbelt ticket.

And yes I need a fully clean drivers abstract for my job (I do mobile security patrols) and if I dont win and still get the points then I loose my position. So its fucking bullshit. I'll still have a job, but one thats suckier (I'll be a static officer) and pays less to deal with more bullshit. Im just sick and tired of not reaping any rewards, and always getting it up in the ass. When will it be yourHIGHness's turn to reap benefits? WHEN!?!?!
    lol sorry im just ranting.

Cause he's a Chiropractor not a Doctor. Going to a Chiropractor is like going to a Salon. Insurance doesn't cover Chiropractor visits unless recommended by a specialist. Visiting a Chiropractor is like visiting an expensive massage parlor. (Prices work both ways, depending on the place)

  18. A chiropractor is a doctor last time i checked they have specialized PHDs. Insurance does cover chiropractic care. And chiropractors dont give massages... they only do adjustments and ultrasound therapy. A message therapist gives massages.
