I found this spider on my Blueberry x CBD Queen Cross

  1. Was wondering if spiders are good for my plant, I could not find any answers online so I needed to create this post. Heres a picture of the little guy. I removed the leaf and placed him on a Bush near by. Wanted to know for future reference, thank you. 20200426_124013.jpg

  2. No spiders are definitely NOT good for your plant. Looks like some kind of spider mite. If you let that go, they will continue to build webs throughout the plant. I would recommend removing any webs you see and spray your plant with Neem oil. This will help deter them in the future.

  3. That is a house spider...not a spider mite. Spider mites are tiny, about the size of a pencil dot. It won't hurt the plant. It will catch and eat other insects though. And for the love of god, don't go spraying your plant because of a single spider.

  4. I love having a few spiders home themselves on my outdoor plants. Especially when they put the webs down near the bottom portion of the plant and I don’t have to worry about it getting in the way.

Love their assistance in the good fight :)

  5. Yeah spiders are pest controllers mate. Not pests. Just leave her to it. If she breeds they'll all fuck off into the wind anyway. They won't hang about and cover your plants with webs.

  7. Sorry if it seems I delivered bad information, but I have been in the pest control industry for 23 years and I can tolerate lady bugs and that's just about it. Good luck!

  11. There are only a million different types of spiders, bro, and I have no idea what part of the world the guy lives in. Saying it's a "House Spider" is like saying it's a dog. LOL Anyway, I mean no disrespect. I just prefer zero bugs on any of my plants, whether I smoke them or eat them. And yeah pest control sucks when you work for someone else. Figured that out about 15 years ago, which is why I've been on my own since. Best of luck to you :)

  12. Copper wire mate. Coil it round a pen. Do 2 or 3 layers together like a wee barbed wire fence. The copper burns em when they touch it so they turn back.
My auld mans got raised beds and that's his trick for it.
    Says it works a treat.

I leave a Havahart in the garden and remove a variety of critters this time of year.
