I feel like moombahton has so much untapped potential

  1. The first time I really heard of and realized what moombahton was as a genre was when I heard Dillon Francis & Kill The Noise - Dill The Noise. I really like what they did with that song and I figured that there must be a lot of other good moombahton tracks out there, but I really haven't liked almost every other moombahton track I've come across. For example, this site lists a bunch of "top" moombahton tracks, but I never even finished going through the list because I hadn't found a single song that was good out of the 20 or so that I listened to.

Is it really so hard to keep that funky beat without throwing in some annoying whiny chirp or dubstep-esque sound? I would ideally be looking for a house song with a moombahton beat, but maybe they just really don't go together? Has anybody heard of any good moombahton tracks that aren't like the ones in the link?

I love how moombahton really makes you want to dance, but the songs just suck.
