hey everybody ive been planning a set up for some time and while i want to start small with 2 or 3 plants i plan to do this for a long time and have more 8 or so, so my question is if i buy a 600w hps and only grow 2 or 3 plants is that unpractical or... i wouldnt ask if i knew thanks everyone
Depends on a lot of factors Are you going to be LSTing/bending, make a SCROG/or SOG, type of genetics you will be working with as in indica/sativa, If you were to use these techniques with your 600w I can see you doing about 4-6 since the coverage area for a 600w is concentrated mostly in the 4x4' range Some additional side lighting could help your cause out a lot But for your question if the plants can stay 18-24 inches away from the tops 2-3 plants shouldn't be an issue Btw you can get some cheap cfls or led panels for side lighting GL
If you did something like this LBH's "4-Way LST" tutorial (with a topping sub-tutorial) - THCfarmer i think it would work out great just keep all of your bud points close to the top and make sure they are not hidden by other leaves
