So i was charged with marijuana possesion today and i was sitting in the cell thinking marijuana is not worth this. Its not worth my spending money on and risking freedom. a marijuana charge can ruin your entire life. I just figured out what i wanna do in life and it included going to college but im not even sure if that can happen anymore. and this is all just my opinon im not trying to cause any problems Fuck the system
I understand. Go to college in Oregon (maybe its washington, idk), but you can get your medical card there even if you are on vacation! But it wont be useful back home. Not that I condone abusing the system like that, but its just an idea.
Well, if you don't want to, don't. Or just wait to smoke when you have a certain safe place to smoke, like your house etc.
I'm guessing you probably still live with your parents and do risky things like smoking in your car or in public? I'm not trying to hate on you at all, I've been there too, that's just how most of the "caught" stories I hear go. I understand what you're saying, for sure. For me though, I have my own place now. I don't have to smoke in public or in my car while driving around, I just light up a bowl while I'm sitting at home and the risk is pretty minimal. *knocks on wood* When you're still living with your parents though and have to find other places to smoke, it's definitely a risky thing. You gotta weigh whether it's really worth it or not, and I think most of the time the best choice is "not". If smoking is gonna result in you getting a record or messing up your schooling or getting kicked out of your house, just wait until you can do it without any of those negative results. Better to be safe than sorry.
yeah man, I stopped smoking in risky spots. I only toke if i know it's safe, and i never carry anything on me. I had too many close calls with cops.
Something like a small possession charge shouldn't keep you out of college as far as I'm aware, I'm not entirely up to date on your states legal system, and it's not the best way it could have happened but it could help you put things into perspective and get your priorities in order. Smoking definitely shouldn't be important enough to put yourself into risk over. Not knowing how you were busted, do you think if you'd made a better choice about the situation (location, people you were with, etc.) you got busted in, you could have avoided it all together? Most of the time that's a yes. Hopefully the legal out come isn't too harsh, and you can still pursue your goals, just let this be a lesson learned; take a break if you need to clear your head (or if the penalty of being caught demands it) and get your life where you want it to be, then decide how you feel about smoking when the dust has settled. Good luck!
well, it can interfere with financial aid. OP, I am willing to bet that college might cost more for you to go now....but your chances arnt ruined....well, pending that you dont get retarded charges or whatever.
