I don't know if this camp drug tests or not.

    So I'm going to work at a YMCA camp this summer - it starts in a week. I have to have my paperwork (tax forms, etc.) in before then. I've looked at their drug policy online and in the paper work, and while it does prohibit drugs, it doesn't say anywhere that they require a drug test. However, they do require a physical and to have it be signed by my physician - but no where does it indicate that a drug test needed to be performed.

    I've heard of jobs that require physicals but no drug tests, and the policy clearly does not say anything about drug testing.

    Also, it has a separate physical exam policy and drug policy on its information for staff.

    Edit: In the intro letter to the paperwork it says the job is contingent on receiving a "clear" response on a criminal background check and satisfactory health record. Again, the "health record" may just refer to the physical exam.

    I've also read other YMCA camps whose websites specifically state that THEY do require drug testing, but this one does not, even in its drug policy.

    Help me out here. What do you think.

    Hey bro, I counsel at YMCA camps too. And I've never been drug tested, but to be safe I take a 2 week break before hand

    I lifeguard at a camp and don't get drug tested, I feel they know College kids are working for them and it's a don't ask don't tell kind of thing. Don't go in smelling like weed and blasted every day though

    Well if it didn't say you were going to be drug tested in the paperwork anywhere, then even if they did ask, you wouldn't have to since it wasn't in the paperwork that you signed. But that doesn't mean they will hire you if you refuse... sooo...

    Ha ha that's good to know, but I vaped last Saturday (and 3 other times in a span of a couple of weeks before hand), and I leave for camp next Thursday. So I need to have a physical sometime between then.

    Like I said, no where in their policy does it say they require one, but would it normally?

    I'm going to drink a shit load of water inbetween now and then, and get some cranberry juice too (heard that helps.) But I don't have any of those crazy means of getting clean real fast.

    I am possibly going to get a job full time at frost valley YMCA. Does anyone know someone who works there full time and if they got drug tested? Also what kind of drug testing did they use, urine? Saliva? Thanks
