  1. So, in some states, you can get it legally for medical reasons, though it still is illegal countrywide? I don't understand how it works. I know that states and the country as a whole have their own laws and such, but I just don't get it. How can it be legal in a state, like here in California, though still be considered illegal by the government?

I remember something on the news a while ago about how some dispensary owners in LA or somewhere got arrested by the the DEA, or some other government agency, even though they were totally legal.

  2. First off, you should learn to differentiate between illegal and unlawful.

  5. Under the Controlled Substances Act (of 1970) cannabis is illegal under federal law and considered a Schedule I drug.

States can make their own laws, but technically they're not supposed to violate federal law. In the case of cannabis, it's basically just a clusterfuck of federal agents violating state laws because they can.

If you want to learn more about the cannabis and its legality, I'd watch [ame="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9077214414651731007"]The Union[/ame].
