the other day i bought 3 150 watt hps bulbs and i read the instructions and it said i need a specially designed socket which is electrically rated to withstand a 4000 volt pulse is required for all high pressure sodium lamps exept for the 750 and 1000 watt lamps. can some one help me locate what i need?
Just go back to where you bought them and tell them you need sockets and ballasts for them. Or try Home Depot, Lowes, a lighting store, etc.
No clue, I've only ever bought them in 400, 600, and 1000 with socket and ballast part of the package.
online lighting dealers... 1000bulbs.com sells everything you can think of relating to lights htgsupply.com sells anything you could want to grow. Both would sell ballasts, sockets/reflectors, etc...
Mitch3ll- if you can, i recommend getting a refund for those bulbs and going with a sngle 400watt hps instead. 150watt hps aren't the best choice for a few reasons. read my thread here http://forum.grasscity.com/general-...out-using-150w-hps-dont-bother-heres-why.html for a better explanation.read it and you'll see. One 400w HPS puts out 5,000 more lumens than three 150wattHPS together, and uses 129 less watts. 150W HPS and smaller are WAY less efficient than their bigger brothers. plus you only buy ONE bulb and ONE ballast. good luck! ps if you're still hell bent on using thre 150watters, the ballasts are here- http://www.1000bulbs.com/150-Watt-High-Pressure-Sodium/
