I being high probable cause?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Budyyy, Jul 14, 2012.

  1. Is being pretty obviously stoned probable cause for a search? If the cop asks you ''are you high son'' would replying ''no, allergies ect...'' be obstruction of justice? How do these situations play out in public or during a meet and greet at home?

Information specific to Canada would be ideal, but even knowledge about american law helps tremendously.

  2. Ya lie to the cops, good idea.

Cops usually have special training to determine whether someone is impaired or not. If they suspect you are under the influence they have every right to detain you.

And since you can't really do a breathalyzer for weed they'll probably just bring out a K9 unit and sniff around.

edit: that's for a traffic stop... idk how itd go down if you're just walking down the street

  4. Well i heard somewhere that denying your involvement to a crime is legal and does not fall under ''obstruction of justice''. Not sure if this is similar enough.
