I am my own worst enemy

  1. Most things I want to accomplish in life, be it academics, women, fitness all comes down to me holding myself back. So, in order to become the man I want to become I have to defeat and conquer myself. But, how does one do this?

  2. Wierd, ive been thinking the same thing all night. Let me know if there's a cure lol

  3. you must do the opposite

  4. Sometimes in life, you have to just man the fuck up and stop being a pussy. I had to do that myself.

  5. you must first climb a mountain...then turn around

then see your reflection in a snow covered hill...till a landslide brings it down.

then you must ask, "mirror in the sky, what is love? can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?"

Uh ah ... uh ah .... uh ah ...

  6. you gotta have discipline unfortunately its not something you just attain one day. It comes from your upbringing. If you want to complete your goals to set it spend every waking second investing 100% of your energy towards the goal..... if you really do want to complete your goals ask the question if you are willing to change your life and do everything possible to do so... If you cannot do that then there is not much going for you then!

  7. I feel the exact same way. When it comes down to accomplishing something it's all in your mind you must defeat yourself like you said. All of that is pretty easy for example recently i lost a good amount of fat, but not munching out when i am faded is hard..... also eating the right food (healthy) doesnt taste as good as (bad) food:/ but you just got to be strong(mentally) .

  8. Well first, ask yourself if you really want to accomplish these things for you

Sometimes you don't even realize you try to do things for the approval of outside influences, and end up lying to yourself. Not a good foundation to accomplish your goals.

You're a goat (hopefully you get the South Park reference).

As for you OP and being your own worst enemy. Correct, you are your own worst enemy, we all are. We're also our own best friends.

In relation to 'overcoming yourself' - sorry bud. We all got our brain instructions when we popped out of the womb inside bubble wrap. You must have missed out that day.

But in all seriousness did you honestly expect people here to have some kind of secret that you didn't already know? You know what needs to be done. All you're doing right now is putting it off by asking people.

Conclusion: The person that has the most effect over your life is you. Quit being a baby and do what is necessary to improve your life, or else you have no right to complain about it.

You just said everything that I struggle with word for word damn. I believe everyone else above me is correct except Marley Subs
But anyway here is a really good quote I found a while ago, I want you to carefully analyze it and think....

We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit

  11. The first step is to understand that your current inhibitions and weaknesses are not you. Then you stop making excuses and allow yourself to change from there.

  15. Meditate, yo.

  16. Slap yourself in both cheeks very hard, do the tarzan/gorilla chest thump and yell as loud as you can.

  17. It's all in strategy. Write your goals down on a piece of paper along with ways to accomplish these things. Do not rush and don't be scared to fail. Always get back up and try again. If you want something bad enough you can have it. I live by a motto that I can do anything I want, if I want to.
