    I am an Existential Nihilist
Our lives have no intrinsic value, nothing we do matters, we are all insignificant.
Meaning no, god did not put you here for a purpose.

    I am a Moral Nihilist
I very much believe that there is no such thing as morality intrinsic to reality.
Humans create an accepted right and wrong for themselves.
What I am saying is that outside of social confinement, murder, rape, etc is all perfectly fine.

    Anyone with me?

  2. i dont give a shit that you dont give a shit!;):smoke:

  3. We're mammals with suit and tie.

    Yes I'm with you.

  4. With all of it other than that we have no meaning here on Earth.

I'm pretty set on the fact that we're meant to evolve and heighten our awareness to where we can perceive and understand each other's and the universe's vibrations. In other words, evolve to a point where we can communicate through emotion, rather than language.

  5. Meant to, or should do?
Our purpose is to evolve, is that what your saying?

  6. You could probably lable me an existential nihilist, but I'd rather attribute my beliefs to absurdism. I'm on the fence about morality. It's either morality is genetic and is intrinisic. Or morality is an extremely useful social meme. Either way, it's something that's responsible for our success.

Reading this, "For example, a moral nihilist would say that killing someone, for whatever reason, is not inherently right or wrong"

I can't agree with that. It simply violates humanistic principles that I subscribe to. I can see where they're coming from though.

  7. Intrinsically? I am talking about things you don't subscribe to. Things that are intrinsic to reality, nothing that humans make up.
    No social constructs.
    And I'm no humanist..
There is absolutely nothing wrong with anything you want to do, murder your relative, copulate with them afterwards...it's all good in the hood. lol
    Outside of the humanistic trappings.

  8. wait a min!

if you dont care about anything....then why bump the thread?

unless you do care what people think......;):smoke:

  9. Yeah, that's not very beneficial for society. So that's not something I really support.

  10. i ultimately don't know... but if i had to bet on something, 2 of those would be on your list.

  11. .......Least its an ethos, Mannnnnn.....

  12. i think meaning does not exist outside of the object or thing itself

its meaning is emboded by its very existance

everythings meaning in turn is connected to the meaning of many things

yet all meaning abides in the thinsg them selves AND NOTHING ELSE

for example we live good lives so that we can enjoy heaven afterwards , this is all vanity

i think this philosohy has a very good point but i dont think there is no meaning

We don't have to, or need to, but it's what the point of being here is.

    Gotta raise those vibes people!

Edit: Not trying to preach what is (thought I think this is), but just putting my thoughts out there.

  14. I am also an existentialist and moral nihilist, as most rationalists are.

That's why I am also a secular humanist. Morality can be rationally formed, even if it isn't inherently existent.

  15. People, people. Nihilism doesn't mean you don't care, but rather that nothing has any value or meaning other than what you give it.

  16. More people will understand soon enough (I hope), I feel that consciousness is gonna start rising.

  17. Why do you continue to live then?
Are your actions truly in sync with your philosophy?

  18. depends which Nihilist you ask;):smoke:
no idea or system of belief
this only helps you...when properly applied;) you cant properly apply it...without understanding that doing so will likly not always mean the same thing.....
    shit changes.....
most of the people i have met who subscribe to the idea of the Nihilist- simply use it as an excuse not to have to care about anything....
just like many Christians use their beliefs as an excuse to hate anyone who doesnt think like them.....or believe the way they do..... i dont think they have the slightest clue as to how to apply the ideas in their chosen "mindset"? their script says love- yet they continue to spew hate....

seriously tho....do you honestly care what people think? or not?

are you looking for others opinions on this idea of Nihilism?

i personally dont subscribe to anyones "way"

there are little bits of what i feel to be found in many different ideas....
    many different beliefs....
    many ways of thinking.....

but no one train of thought......
stands a chance of taking me where i want to go!

to find my way thru this mess...i find a combination of ideas is always best.....

once you "decide" to be a Nihilist or a catholic or a whatever.....

you limit yourself to how those people think things should be...

if you feel you need someone to tell you how to think and what to believe ...then by all means follow!

i personally prefer to make my own way......

    you see....a "mindset"......is a trap!

it locks you into only one way of thinking......

and you miss out on much that this life has to offer....

do i care what people think of me?

people in general-hell no! fuck them and what they think;):smoke:

those i care about and consider close-yes i care what they think...but will not be intentionally shaped by them.....they got close to me by accepting me for exactly who i am.....and i do the same for them....and in this way we help to shape each other:smoke:

    /rant:eek:

    yeah that!^

  19. What about when we start living for over a thousand years, will you still have the same perspective?
