I am a Pot head, I am Addicted, Are you?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by M.smokesalot, Aug 13, 2011.

  1. I have seen Threads dedicated to discussing wether or not are favorite plant is addicting. I am a Pot Head and ive been smoking for 4 years, I have tried to stop. I have succeeded at taking a t-breaks in the past. However in the last 6 months I have tried and failed, to stop smoking pot, on 4 deferent occasions.

I used to be one, of many on this site, that would argue that Pot is no more addicting than a cup of cofee. This may be true, but I got addicted to pot, not cofee. I didn't Start this thread to discuss my views on wether the plant is addicting.

I started this thread to ask you, wether or not you are addicted. If I just asked the question: "Are you addicted?" This thread would go no where, most would say no. Instead I have a list of questions. All yes or no answers. All I ask Is that you answer honestly.

    Are you addicted?
1.Has smoking stopped being enjoyable, at least some of the time?

    2.Do you smoke alone?

3.Do you find it hard to imagine living without marijuana?

4.Do you choose friends who also smoke?

5.Do you smoke to avoid really confronting your feelings?

6.Do you smoke marijuana when you get upset, as a way of coping?

7.Do you live in a self defined world outside of regular society, because of your marijuana use?

8.Have you ever promised someone you would quit or cut down (including yourself) and failed
    to do so?

9.Do you notice that you are not as sharp as you were, or that your memory is worse because of your marijuana habit?

10.When you are nearly out of marijuana, do you start to feel anxious about getting more?

11.Does your life revolve around your use of marijuana?

12.Have friends or family ever told you that your marijuana habit has had a negative effect on your relationship?

I said yes to all of them except question 7. This in my opinion makes me addicted. Im curious GC, take the test, how many yes answer's did you get?

Im willing to bet not everyone here is addicted, but from my experience im thinking most of you are.

PS. If your going to lie about your answer just dont take the test.

  2. Only two yes here at 2. and 10.

  3. 2 years medical, yes

  4. Only number 2. i love smokking alone . its so peaceful!

  5. yes to all of the above

  6. I only answered one with yes, which was number 12. I quit using cannabis a few months ago so the rest do not really apply to me now, but when I did use cannabis, I would have answered yes to all of them. I'm glad I quit and started exercising and eating healthy, it's a way better feeling than being high in my opinion:)

    5: No
    6: No
    7: No
    8: No
    9: Yes

    11: No
12: The opposite infact, i never really used to find my grandma that interesting, bad as it sounds, but i love getting blazed, and going to listen to some of her stories, so marijuana improved our relationship :)

  9. 2 and sometimes 4: I don't want friends that are completely against the herb :O

  10. I think the 0,s are liars. im an 8

  11. Ok im not gonna waste my time because I didn't let myself get addicted. I smoked solid for 4 years. Every day for most of the day. Then I decided to do something with my life which would not allow me to smoke and stopped. So sure if you want to call your problem an addiction go for it. If you wanted to stop you would stop.

  12. Addiction requires a chemical change in your brain when not intoxicated. This CANNOT happen with cannabis. You are dependant, not addicted. Also addiction has painful PHYSICAL withdrawl symptoms.

  13. ^ some people just develop a dependence and abuse it. the herb isn't necessarily addictive, as it contains no addictive components like most substances, but it can be mentally desirable. fairly unhealthy and disrespectful to the plant if you ask me
