Hypothetical question about pollinating female plant for seeds

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by dosboot, Feb 14, 2009.

  1. Let's say I have a Lowryder #2 plant, female. Let's say I have a Mexican dirtweed plant, male.

Well, I need more seeds, and I'm not terribly particular about the size of the plant or whether it is autoflowering or not. I'm cheap, so I don't want to buy seed if I don't have to. The things I care about are yeild and potency. If yeild is just halfway decent size, I'll be quite happy, and if potency is the same as Mexican dirtweed (female) or better, I will be satisfied.

So...if I let my male dirtweed pollinate my female Lowryder#2, how likely would it be that the [female] plants from the resulting seeds would fit my needs? (I will get rid of the males).

  2. That really can't be answered, too many variables and all based on your own subjective judgment. Give it a whirl and then you let us know how it worked out.

  3. Thanks for the reply, toasty. But it's just a hypothetical question. I wish I had those plants on hand, but I don't. :(
