Hydroponics Do it!

  1. The results are in.

A side by side Hydro and Potting soil grow!

Hydro had a late start due to 2 weeks of not having proper Nutrients.
I started then with 1 Qt container of potting soil dumped in the nutrient Bucket, they Grew very slowly for the next 2 weeks but were very healthy.

The potting soil babies took off and were at 6 Inches with second and third layer leaves. Time was 10 days.

At this time I put both the Hydro which were about 2 inches tall with secondary leaves abd the potting soil babies in FLOWERING MODE.

About this time I secured proper Nutrients for the hydro.
Changed the Bucket water and fed them.

    42 days later.

The soil plants are about 3 foot high

The Hydro's are about 2 foot high.

It appears the hydros are at a later stage of flowering whereas the doil plants tricomes are clear and beginning to get MILKY.
Yeild is expected at 2-3 OZ per plant
Nice looking buds and tempting but not done yet.

Hydros are running late in Flowering Mode BUT they are looking MUCH better in the way of yeild expectations BUD sites are all over the plants and they are starting to really kick into gear.

    Summary:
Although the Hydros are running late they are very impressive comparing them to soil grow.

Tight branches spaced abiut 1 inch part vers 3-4 inches for the soil grow.

The soil grow plants I expect to be ready for harvest before the hydros unless for some reason they expedite their cycle. ( I don't expect this to happen)

Conclusion: Because of the increased number of plants that can be fit in an area using the same lighting of soil vers Hydro and the cleanness of not having soil setting up an almost totally automatic hydro system if very attractive.

I have a 4 X 8 area with 800 Watts of HPS. which also happens to have a floor to ceiling mirror 6 foot away and is in a natural light colored enclosure with controled temp and humidity.

Before harvest I will take pictures of each and also will show yield when completed with each grow.

Then we will so do a double blind taste test and issues results.

    Have fun!
    :)
