So i've grown in soil before and germinated my seeds in a paper towel then put them directly in solo cups. But this time im growing hydroponic, I was told to germinate in a paper towel again, and I bought the x-root tray with blocks of soil and a heat pad. I guess I am suppose to germinate in towel for tap root then plant in soil block. But then what? How do I transfer the plant from soil block to hydro bucket with the rocks? Do I just put the soil in the bucket and put rock above and below the soil block? I have the usual bubble bucket design and set-up, bought it from a hydro shop. Thank you for the help.
i'd suggest using jiffy peat pellets or rockwool cubes. both can be put right into the mesh pot and surrounded with hydroton. just put a layer of hydroton on the bottom of the mesh pot. place the cube or pellet onto that and build up the hydroton around it to keep it in place. i've used both and they both work fine.
Don't use soil blocks, use rockwool or rapid root plugs then stick those into the net pots and use the hydrocorn to surround it.
