Hydroponic Guide?

Discussion in 'First-Time Cannabis Growers' started by noctorum, Sep 27, 2004.

  1. Well, my time to start growing is approaching, and I'm having a dilemna.

I've checked into soil extensively, and how to maximize yield and etc.

I've talked to a couple of experienced growers and shared my mix idea, they said it was great.

But, even so, after reading this on overgrow...

I'm considering hydro instead. Anyone enlighten me to guide? How does ferting work? Same lights? How much water? Do I need special additives?

    Thanks

  2. Hydro is easier to grow with - once you have everything set up!

Plants need the same nutes (you can get special versions for use in hydro systems as well - growing and vegging stage nutes that are just added straight to othe water resevoir) if you use hydro or soil, and the same lights, the main difference is watering. With Hydro the roots are showing and are not covered by soil - We have to water them alot more as their is no soil to hold the moisture. Pump should be switched on to water the plants sumthing like 15mins in every hour the light is on - this is nothing to worry about though as your timer will take care of this.

Apart from this, its pretty much similar - your plants will need lots of TLC to survive
