hydro question

  1. can you grow from seed in a dwc bucket? or is it better to grow in soil until its like 6inches tall and transplnat it in the hydro?

  2. Dont do soil to hydro. As long as you germ your seeds in rockwool, let them grow for a week or so and then put them into the bubbler you should be fine. You will have to water the plants manualy until the root grow below the basket into the nutes.

  3. if ur going to place the plants in a bubbler, there's no reason why u can't start them off in soil.
There's no water pump or foggers to clog up with a bubbler & any soil that washes loose, u can clean out when u change solution.
Start them off as normal & use peat pots (or balls of cotton wool.
When there's plenty of rootmass, whack it in the net & fill in with clays as normal.

Did mine like this & believe me - they are fine ;)

  4. I did the same thing, just gently wash away the soil with some water, put the little guys in netpots, cover with meduim and put in the DWC. It was actually extremely easy and worked very well.

  5. I prefer to keep hydro and soil separated for one reason as you never know what contaminants you are transfering and reduce the stress you put on your girls to the minimum.

  6. Duh. Just start them off in the bubbler. Its just like any other growing medium. I do it all the time and they grow just fine. Just set the nute level up for seedlings and clones, around 200ppm and you'll be fine. Oh, make sure you condition your rockwool with rockwool conditioner 24hrs prior.

  7. how do you condition the rockwool? do u water it?
