I took cuttings from soil mothers, rooted them in a verm/perlite mix for about 2 and a half weeks, then transplanted to 2.5 liter pots i think, about half filled with hydroton in a flood table. I put them under 12/12 hps when i transplated. That was about 3 weeks ago. I started feeding them 500ppm clonex about a week and a half ago. Ive been watering by hand waiting for roots to show before i start the pump. They perked up a little since ive been feeding them. However, im only seeing brown, smelly roots. I ph my water to 6 of course, and my temps and humidity levels are in good ranges. I water them overhead about 3 times every 24 hours. Any advice?
Maybe, just maybe the roots temp are getting too hot. What's your temps in ur room. You have any beneficial bacteria running in there, or is it a sterile res? Is your res aerated and have and adequate temperature range to allow a high dissolved oxygen ratio? Brown smelly roots is a clear sign of root rot and you have to find the cause. And use an enzyme to dissolve dead roots. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Like i said i havent use my rez and pump yet because i dont want to damage the roots, so im waiting to see more roots out the bottom. I sterilized my hydroton (this is its third time to be used) I havent added anything involving ben. Bacteria. So from what i think i know its a sterile system. Ive been watering 3 times a day, with water at 400ppm, brought up to 500ppm with Clonex solution.
