im doin a project on the vietnam war and i gotta find 2 songs that deals with the war, and it has be a musician from that time era (70's). i like alot of bands from that time, pink floyd, grateful dead, phish, etc. dont really know many songs about war from those bands though, except for this one song called post war dreams by pink floyd. anyone help me out ? grateful dead fans, isnt there gotta be somethin about the vietnam war caus it was all about peace and anti war stuff back then. thanx id gratefully appreciate it .
I dont remember who the song is by, but its entitled War. It goes like this incase anyone knows the name War! What is it good for! And some other stuff I can't remember
# CCR - "Fortunate Son" # The Troggs - "Wild Thing" # The Trashmen - "Surfin' Bird" # Edwin Starr - "War" # Deep Purple - "Hush" # Jefferson Airplane - "Somebody to Love" # Canned Heat - "On the Road Again" # Bobby Fuller Four - "I Fought the Law" # Joe Cocker - "The Letter" # Martha and the Vandellas - "Nowhere to Run" just a few
"Fortunate Son" by CCR is one of my favorite Viet Nam War songs, and it applies to today's fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, too. The Guess Who - "American Woman"
Dont look for 70s phish songs. After being formed in 82 they didnt score a decent gig till a few years later
