Hurricane Katrina Relief

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by Prof ThunderPot, Sep 2, 2005.

  1. I'm not sure if this is an appropriate place for this or not, but I don't care. I am sending in $5.00 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief. I am really poor at the moment with just a couple hundred dollars to my name. I may not even be able to buy bud pretty soon here. But I had to send what I could. I urge all the members of GC to do the same. Five bucks--it's the cost of a single joint. Would it not be wonderful if a lot of us could send in what we could? a bunch of stoners and MJ patients doing what's right? The world might just find that pot users are basically just like everyone else--compassionate towards those in desparate need.

    Thanks

  2. Props dude. + Rep. Even though you may be going through finacially rough times, your heart is in the right place, and that is what really matters. Me and my family sent 25 dollars in total for the relief aid, and it really made me feel good about myself. To know that I am not to selfish to spend all my money on things for me.

    Jah Bless

  3. i would most deff ask a mod to see what they can do.

just imagine if the red cross gets a envelope of money from grass city hah

not only would it be showing that MJ smokers care but it will also show that its obviously not addiciting, because if it were then we obviously woudlnt be helpin out right?? hah

  4. Dude, my family and I also gave $50....we won't be able to buy weed for a while and we're rather poor but...we had to do something...and even that didn't feel like enough....*sigh*
    Peace.

  5. i talked to my mom today, and found out my stepdad is getting sent to louisiana (called to active duty for national guards) to help out there... its really fucked up, people are getting raped, shops getting looted, bus got jacked gun point....

i beleive it was declared a state of emergency.....

i feel really bad for them, i too will most likely send some money... but i like the idea of grasscity collecting money and donating it...

  6. Ya I agree we need to help every one out since its geting to be that the gov wont even help. I say we should all give what we can weather its $5-$500 everything helps. Its very sad that people are actually looting and taking stuff that isnt even useful. This might sound a little extreme to some but I think all looters taking stuff other and cloths food and shoes (within reason) should be shot. Like one of the cops said shoot and leave a note that says "looter". Sorry if this offends any one or if its to long.

  7. fuckin A guys.....this is exactly what everyone needs to do...even a dollar....

that buys a bottle of water for someone that hasnt had clean water to drink in 3 days.

the impact of this disaster your children will remember...this things going take decades to recover from ..

  8. ya guys we should start a grasscity fund or something and send it to the red cross, that would be really cool. me and my family used to live in new orleans and have many freinds there (well had) and we are currently housing 1 family of 4 from New Orleans and 2 college students from Tulane.

  9. That city's fucked, it needs money and more law enforcement. Gangs are like ruleing the city robing people at gunpoint of what they have left out of all they already lost. Imagine losing everything and then the few things you have left is robed from you, their what happens when shit and vomit have sex.

all gang members should be shot and thrown into a volcano. gangs are just selfish people who hurt everyone else to get by without contributeing to society, just plain air bandits wastes of skin.

I'm gonna send what i can to the red cross.

  10. tru dat man, its good too see that even our neighboors to the North are aware and kind enough to help out. +rep man, your a good soul

  11. jeez i never really knew the harsh things the south is goin through with that hurricane. never really thought about it, and what the people down in the south were goin through. i thought it was just another regular tropical summer storm, but after seeing the news about it, reading crazy stuff about it on the internet, and hearing about this on GC, im like wow shit look how thankful i am right now, after reading about this i am deffinetly dontating some cash, evn tho i have no job, and not that much cash, but im still throwin down some. i feel real sorry for those people shit this is crazy, like indonesica and those humungous tidal waves last year, some very serious stuff. im goin to be tokin a bowl for those down in the south, and best wishes to them stoners whose got family in that area.

++rep to Prof ThunderPot for starting this thread.

  12. who should we talk to see abotu a grass city donation

i think that would be a awesome idea

  13. yeah i sent $50 because they are going throgh so much and i know if i were going through their situation i would greatly appreciate any help.

  14. I'm really thankfull to be where i'm at, i've always been scarred to live in the south because of storms, and i'll probably always stay here because of it. I think there collecting money at my fiance's school, i'll give what i can.

  15. Due to a Holiday to not internet connected territory (yes it still exists) not until today I read about the disaster in The USA an how bad things have become in New Orleans, what a tragedy, be sure that today Grasscity has made a considerable donation to the american red cross in name of all the stoners from grasscity!!

I wish our US friends here all the luck and strength to overcome this disaster, grasscity was there with the tsunamis, now we stand by with the hurricane, we all deserve help when in need!

    Peace and love

    SJ

  16. just want to say thanks everybody....

I may never see some of my ol running buddies from the bayou again...

Im not alone by a longshot...Seeing the outpour to those left gives me the support I may need to accept some very tragic truths

    Thank you for caring

  17. where are you from where you know people in the louisiana guy?

  18. Thank you SJ for your generosity for these people in this time of great need! It's wonderful to see the City helping out in any way possible. :hello:

I've donated, and I encourage everyone to donate something. Even if it's just a few dollars, every little bit helps at this point.

My heart and thoughts are with everyone in the areas affected by this tragedy. ~~Karma~~ to you all, in this dark hour when you perhaps may need it the most.

  19. how could you say that all gang members should be shot and thrown into a volcano? alot of the people in gangs got there because they were born into that situaition. im not defending the gangs or the looting, but come on man.
