To see where it will make its landfall you can check here: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/graphics_at2.shtml?5day?large#contents It should lose some of it's intensity once it hits land, but power outages are highly likely for lower LA parishes. The coastal areas will really take a pounding tho...not sure what the people will return to once it all clears up. Only time will tell I suppose.
