  2. thats sad to hear.

  3. I wonder why.

They sure didn't give much info except that he killed himself.

  4. Damn, that sucks. HST was an incredible writer. Rest in peace.

  5. Man, a number of famous people have died recently, Ossie Davis, Sandra Dee, etc., and I guess it happens all the time, but for some reason this really made me sad. I saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas once and then did a bit of research on Thompson and gonzo journalism, but thats it, it's not like I really connected with him in any way. Perhaps it was the way he died, I don't know.

  6. Not to mention Arthur Miller....

  7. i replied to another thread on this but its very saddening so i will post again

    RIP hunter

"All energy flows according to the whims of the great magnet. What a fool i was to defy him." - Hunter S Thompson

we all gotta go sometime.... but why did he have to go so soon?

One of the greatest, most forthcoming, most bravely honest authors of last century, of EVER... who knows what he would have produced surrounding the current evil authorities. maybe thats partly to blame. its a difficult thing to do, for a libertarian/anti-authoritarian, a freedom loving man seeking the american dream, to stare down the barrel of the first ever potentially everlasting fascist totalitarian oppression of all people. You really have to switch off from it or it will drive you a little barmy. from having read only a couple of his books, i knew he wasn't one who could switch off and ignore the injustices. my thoughts are with his friends, family, and the millions of others around the world who he touched with his own grab-you-by-the-collar style of writing.

he will be missed. a huge amount, he will be missed.

  11. I have heard many a thing and still do not belive....It is sad yes but always remember the good times.

  12. such a tragedy he felt the need to end his own life, i never wanna know what it feels like to stare down the barrel of a gun held by your own hand, ive been depressed before nad felt like total shit, but to actually feel the need to kill yourself?!?! it must be hell on earth!

  13. I shall be wearing my Hunter attire tomorrow to school....You know the look.

    RIP
