Humidity

  1. So im about to harvest 3 of my 6 due to different varieties and 3 are ready of the same variety. I have a journal but I find for specific questions it seems I get better answers and more of them here.

Anyway im about to harvest my humidity is low right now though it's been high. I have a humidifier if needed a small 1.
My question is if I must use it should I place it outside my dry tent? Or inside? It's a small 2x4x5 high so only 40 cubic feet.
I had low humidity last harvest and my buds dried out too quickly

  2. I used my bathroom to dry my harvest. Worked great. Set the humidifier to 65%. Small fan to move air. Done. 4 days hanging. 3 days in a paper bag n now in jars. It was like I had a walk in humidor. Definitely going to do that again.

  3. I baked some paint on my motorcycle cylinders in the oven once. Stunk up the house for a week. Wife still brings that up. I cant imagine what my wife would say if I used the bathroom to dry weed. LMAO

  4. My question to you . Ok they dried to quickly . Were the inside wet as well or just crumbled apart ? How was the bud when you smoked it ? If its over dry put into a baggy whatever with a wet paper towel on the side let it rehydrate .
Im wondering your smoke report ?
Here back in the day i would dry lots and lots of it very fast under 24 hours !!! off to the happy camper zone if you will . I tried some it was not bad at all smooth and tasted good to go .
Those conditions from the old school hps lamps temps up in the 90s and humidity in the 25 % range . The smell was very strong never had people bringing it back or leaving bad reviews . My policy was if you do not like it if its to weak or to strong or you do not like the effects bring it back i will change it out for you for something else . I take it yours was falling about and just got to dry . As soon as you squeeze the bud and the inside did not leave moisture pack it up seal it and super fast cure in a few hours . It gets wet again from being sealed open it stir it let dry and repat the process . lol .

To answer your question i would just put a wet towel inside your tent leave fan running it will bring the humidity up i would not run a humidifier sprays water molds

  5. heya @Flannigan
Do you have a mid-size tote you can place them in over the next day? I normally trim off my fan leaves and hang to dry on the branches. If they by chance overdry, I can still carefully place them in the tote and the moisture that is still trapped in the stems will rehydrate everything, and cure ++. You can still burp the tote like a mason if they remoisten too much.

  7. @bryan oconner ,where you been? The thc forum?
Anyway the weed that got too dry wasn't that bad. It got down to the lower 50's though and I did add pieces of paper towel actually used a towel dampened then broke into 4 pieces then used my hygrometer off my exhaust cause it works really quickly and the jars that were too dry I left the towels in until humidity hit 62 remove towel put a boveda 63 in there everything worked great actually. Taste smell stickiness everything pretty good my friend was gone 11 ounces in 2 weeks I give it away to my friend he loved it. This time im using terp bags a wood moisture meter and a couple other new ways, well, new to me.

You did say a wet towel for adding humidity and I have heard of it plenty never used it but it's funny I was going to harvest the 3 ayahuasca purple at anytime decided to wait but didn't water them earlier with the blueberry since I planned harvest so I decided to and accidentally gave 1 of the bb plants an extra gallon it overflowed into my tent a little I did add a towel to absorb it lol and my humidity did rise quite a bit with all 6 plants being watered as well.

  8. I think I confused everyone @trojangrower lol. That was last harvest I was going to harvest 4 of my 6 because 2 different varieties but decided to wait a few extra days.
But I have an extra 2x4 tent and 4 inch exhaust system this time as well everything is fantastic right now im talking about I'd my crop trys to dry to quickly because last time im going by a wood moisture meter this time when it registers 10 to 12 percent on the soft wood setting im putting it in grove bags and they automatically burp so I think I'm not going to over dry im hoping the meter is pretty damn accurate said my body is 60 percent I Google it said average human body is 60 percent but babies are more water at 75 percent the meter cuts off at 60 well quits measuring but it's definitely pretty accurate if it works good no more humidity reading it will be

    MOISTURE METERS READING!!!

    @trojangrower

I messed up writing this post saying no more humidity duh wow.

I'll be using humidity obviously but I the end the soft wood reading on the moisture meter. It has 4 different settings including masonry, wall, hard and soft wood lol. Only 18 bucks delivered pretty damn accurate and very easy no pin just lay it on whatever your wanting to measure moisture

  12. put it in the tent and get as cold in there as you can just dont let the rh get under 60% at any point you can manually lower the rh by opening and closing the tent just keep checking it until they are ready to jar i say 5 days is perfect it was for me my buds are 100% on point this run better to let them be in high humidity than low and dont worry about mold i never ever once had mold and i had the rh over 80% at the beginning of the hang i would pluck off the fan leaves and leave the sugar leaf

  18. Nice! IMO don't get too hung up on the humidity if there's little you can do about it. "perfect" temp & humidity would be nice, don't get me wrong, but realistic? If humidity is high - hang it longer, if humidity is low - hang it less. After curing it should end up in the same place, or as close as you could. :metal:

  19. get the petro pore it onto there website may be how i really feel
