Hi ppl. Now this might sound like a real basic question to ask. But in my room I've 3 hygrometers. Sort of like top, middle & bottom. Understanding micro climates exist & always looking for the dialled in sweet spot for environmental control. What I wanna know is I'm trying to take an average r/h reading & down below the canopy its higher then i like, but heading further up its drops to sufficiently low'ish levels. I'm guessing if its somewhere inbetween its gotta do? Any ideas out there? Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Theres 2 oscillating fans set to come on intermittently every 15mins. Attempting to mix up the air? But as I'm injecting co2 my intake comes on during the co2 cycle to further mix up the air. Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
You failed to say this in your first post …. adding co2 and cutting off the fans pretty much is self explanator
I'm no expert @ this, but I'd like to think I've some common sense? Just hard to understand the big drops in r/h levels through the room? 65/75 @ bottom, the middle is 40°approx but weirdly up higher its lower @ 34° ish... With the exchanges & mixing of air going on it's hard to understand? Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
When you say circulation I'm guessing i somehow need to mix the air further! I know self explanatory. But getting a balance between all the variables can be difficult or so it seems? This grow coz it's in an out building & its winter. I've tried the best to insulate. The cold is influencing the environmental variables. As I'm using co2 I need high temps to justify its use & get the most. Using a decent dehuey I'm trying to dial all this in? Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
You need your exhaust fan to replace the air in the room 3 times every 5 mins and you small fans should be moving air/blowing on the plants to strengthen the stems. Turning your exhaust off is most likely the problem. If it were me I'd give up in the whole adding co2 thing, I've grown for 10years and never added co2. If you really have to add it your gonna need a way to produce a crazy amount to keep levels high because again your air needs to be replaced be the exhaust 3 times every 5 min Perpetual happiness
I can understand you not wanting to make your first post lengthy . but almost every post your adding in more and more vital information .. where are you growing ? What state are yo in . What is the outside temp. what is your normal inside home temp . what is the inside grow room temp before co2 and after ?
sorry for not being more clear. Firstly 1 of the difficulties here is I'm in the uk, so it's as undercover as can be? The 'undercover' factor presents more challenges as 1 can guess. So I've 2 spaces to work with. A veg/ cloning area. Then into a 7ft high x 8ft by 8ft flower room. I've got a co2 injection/dose system run by an ndir sensor to give me optimum ppm levels. The hard part is working out how long to run a co2 cycle b4 exhaust is needed. Basically trying to dial in every parameter?? Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I hear what your saying. Some ppl think the whole co2 thing is hard work & not needed. If I didn't have the co2 I could easily cycle in the extraction like you say. But as I'm using co2 & gonna keep running with it. I know I'll have to find that balance of co2 / + in/out I'm using the best co2 sensor/ equipment & trust it. But with co2 you gotta push the temps real high to make the process realistic Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Hi sorry 4 not being more clear @ the start. I'm in the uk so its undercover. So my flower room is 7ft high by 8ft x 8ft. Got an ndir sensor to run my co2 injection give me ppm reading. To get the right lumens / temp I'm using cmh ballast's. 2 d/e 630w & 3 x 315w. That can get me up 2 the required temps that justify co2. Got a decent dehuey in there. 2 large oscillating fans each opposite corner. Couple smaller ones off the floor. Played around with my cycles. Trying to find the right length of co2 & temp level b4 extraction. Recently started to bring the intake on the floor 20 mins into an hour long co2 cycle, attempting to mix it up a bit more. The 2 oscillating fans come on every fifteen mins regardless. With this co2 system I'm using the level is always whatever the plants need. The sensor & tech does the job. Obviously cant constantly extract when using co2 that's self explanatory so gotta find the balance I guess? Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Your temps are to high unless you have super hi high humidity. It sounds like your making a bunch of problems for co2 that just isn't worth it man Perpetual happiness
The combination of your lighting and co2 and cutting off the fans , honestly you cant expect anything but to hot in your tent . If you want accelerated growth , try hydroponics..
Or follow the vpd humidity chart also folier feeds will really accelerate growth as long as you dont over do it Perpetual happiness
Apologies. I'm gonna get an ir temp gun so I can dial in this vital vpd. Get some readings around the canopy & finally learn to balance it @ the sweet spot they deserve. I've got all the equipment & decent genetics now I've got to perfect it. The main grow is 5 weeks in flower. Got a couple mothers in there flushing now. I had to flower through lack of space. Flower development is excellent on all of them. Trichs looking superb, though I guess we always want more Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I thought I'd replied back to you? Don't know what happened & am sorry for that. I'm over in the uk. Obviously we've got the time dif. But shout me when your about & I'll give you a breakdown of where I'm @. Like you saying difficult to help with little or know info? But I'm always grateful for sound advice from.ppl.b4 me with the knowledge Sent from my SM-G955F using Grasscity Forum mobile app
