Eh, My thoughts on this are kinda neutral. It's always sad to see someone die. However on the plus side. I think alot of the countries that do not like socialism/Marxism/communism would be happy. Where it goes from here, is another story. Will america or another country push democracy, or will Venezuela keep with what they said a few months ago, that the will stick with their current policies

Well I doubt many leftist/socialist/communist will have the ability to get a foothold in major countries. However one like Venezuela, I think it would be quite easy. Chavez was loved by the Venezuela poor, and middle class which makes up 70-80% of the country. Because he was there for them, and provided for them. But, he is still a dictator, and a evil man. Look up the bolivarian circle. It's basically a group chavez set up, and used to get his way. They have immunity from police action, and are allowed to run around the country freely doing what they want. I think there is gonna be a very bad power struggle unless some one steps up soon, and actually does something. The amount of oil Venezuela has, and the amount of Turmoil going on in the country. Those 2 mixed are grounds for a badddddddd future.
Yeah I mean its hard to read through all the bullshit about Chavez, to me I think of it like any other dictatorship. He took what he wanted from the country, and got his wealth no matter what he had to do. However he also provided for the poor of the country. Hes not your run of the mill dictator. Nothing about chavez is cut and dry. He did good, he did bad..
This paragraph basically summed up what I did know a bit about, besides the overly sensationalized "helping of the lower class" stories by my old teacher, I don't think it is the way to run a country or government personally...But with the bad there is good an with the good there is bad, just like you said..
