Hey all, was curious if i could put an MH conversion bulb in my Hydrofarm 250w HPS ballast. Or do i have to have a special ballast that calls for conversion? A switchable ballast? Thanks in advance.
A coversion bulb will work but it's not worth it all. Get a hortilux hps bulb that has the 30% extra blue spectrum and your plants will absolutely love it during veg and flower
i have a phillips green power 600w bulb it's dual spectrum and works great for both veg and flower! sure it cost about £30

To your question, as long as it is the right wattage then yes you can use the MH conversion bulb off a HPS ballast. That's exactly what the "conversion" part means, that it is made to run off the "wrong" type of ballast.
