i was in lowes an seen so hps mh lights that were 100-50watt and had a medium base instead of a mongul base. my question is can those lights be used in a regular household light socket?
If they are the same type I've seen there, no. Those lights require a special socket that has a built in ballast. Putting them in a regular socket would be a fire hazard waiting to happen.
