What would happen if say, a dust particle, from a fan, hit the bulb and it created a hot spot and shattered the bulb? Would the light shut off or keep on? When I imagine a problem like this, I think of sparks flying everywhere and a very bad situation. Can anybody tell me what actually happens?
Dear Steve, Do not worry about dust particles destroying your lamp if you ever use or have an HPS light Dust can lower the efficiency of the light if it collects on the lamp but, It happens and all that has to be done is for the person to wipe the bulb with a cheese cloth or similar soft lens cloth and thats it If you want to know worst case then you can imagine what it would be like if the hot bulb was to get splashed with water during foliage feeding for example ^That would be bad Other than that you will be ok
