HPS lighting

    is there hps bulbs of any wattage that you can use without purchasing a ballast?

    no, consider ballast thats installed with the light, a little box that sits on the light shield used for barns and warehouse's

    HPS requires a ballast. It isn't a matter of wattage, it's a matter of how the bulb is designed to work.
