Hi all i just got a 250watt HP's light how far should i keep it away from seedlings i am plantin in soil and then straight under this light .
put it about 5 inches away from your plant to start off. then place the back of your hand as close as you can to the bulb without it burning. move your hand down until temperatures cool off significantly. if its still hot by the time you reach the top of your plant/pot (whichever is taller) adjust your light higher until it just starts to cool off. set it there and remember to raise it before you forget and your plants grow too big and touch it.
